    X SCIENTIFIC-PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE

    CULTURAL HERITAGE

    RISKS AND PERSPECTIVES

    CALL FOR PAPERS

  • The aim of the Conference is to consider and identify the following: the risks to which cultural heritage is exposed; the most vulnerable categories and properties of heritage; the exchange of theoretical and practical knowledge of how the risks can be alleviated; the possibilities of improving the attitude of society towards heritage; and the application of proactive measures.

The ultimate goal of this Conference is to raise the level of awareness of all participants on the values of cultural heritage for society, the potential threats it faces and the measures that can be taken to preserve the values of heritage for future generations.

We invite you to submit your proposal for the Conference in the form of either a paper, poster presen-tation, separate workshop (to be arranged separately with the organizers) or to attend the Conference.

Some of the potential threats and risks to cultural heritage we expect will be discussed and considered at this Conference are: natural disasters, destruction, globalization, urbanization, climate change, lack of awareness and respect for heritage, inadequate maintenance and non-use, tourism, economic and social changes (especially those relating to ownership and state responsibilities), lack or inadequate application of the law on the protection of heritage and / or conservation standards and non-conformity to related laws.

The identification of risks, its causes and consequences are an essential precondition for preventing possible damage to cultural heritage. The prevention of possible damage depends on timely and valid risk assessment and the application of appropriate procedures and measures. The analysis of past events, both abroad and in Serbia, assists in a more comprehensive understanding of risks and the preparation of adequate responses.

Please submit your proposal which should comply with the following sub-categories: – Identification of threats and risks – consequences, responses, forecasts – Lessons from the past

    – Current and alternative risk mitigation measures

In addition to the above mentioned sub-categories, authors are allowed to prepare their professional / scientific works within topics, which in the broader context can contribute to understanding the risks to which cultural heritage is exposed and taking appropriate proactive measures.

The abstract should be limited to no more than 200 words and be in Serbian (Cyrillic or Latin) and English and must contain: the title of your work and the thematic field; the name and surname of the author, institution / firm and contact information.
