Cultural Photography
I took all the pictures listed down in the global village for different cultures across the
world.
1. Traditional Dutch Pancakes ( Pannekoek):
I took this picture in the winter after ordering it from the Holland café. I was craving
to eat this dessert with chocolate syrup but it is also can be served with dark syrup
(molasses), cheese or plain sugar. The origins in the Netherlands and Belgium and It
is popular for children. The mixture is thinner than American pancakes and thicker
than French crêpes. Easy to make you just need some flour, milk, egg, salt and the
correct recipe.
2. Arabic Pistachio Ice Cream
This picture was taken in the summer at the Syrian Section and its called “ Booza “.
It is famous around Arab world so it’s familiar to see it in other countries. It taste
different than the regular ice cream because it is all natural ingredient like mastic and
sahlab. As it is elastic they serve it with great show, which will make you come again.
I was surprised of the high price 20Dhs for a cup but it’s worth trying.
3. Egyptian statues
From the Egyptian section at the global village it is common to see ancient statues
representing pyramids, gods, kings and symbols.
Egyptian people preserve their culture by dressing or having statues to keep
remembering their history and a way of gaining money. People who are interested in
art will find this shop very exciting as the statues carved in a professional way. Some
of the statues are in the picture for: king Tut, queen Nefertiti and different gods:
Bastet and God of power .
