    Welcome backto a new school year!

    Wowsummer is over already (where did it go?), and the season of fall, school, cooler

    weather, and football is sneaking up on us. With these seasonal changes often comes a

    renewed interest in trying something new, developing career skills, or starting a new

    hobby. The pages in this fall brochure are packed with lots of opportunities to grow in

    many different areas.

    We have vocational classes for those of you who may be looking for a new career or

    enhancing the skills you currently have in your present job. Most classes are available

    during the day, but check the schedule for opportunities offered in the evening. If you are

    looking for a computer class, but not quite sure which to choose, give us a call, and well

    be happy to help you decide which hands-on class would be best for you. On-line

    training is also available for those who prefer to study in the quiet of your own home,

    within your own schedule.

    Become a Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide and jointhe ranks of the growing and profitable health care industry!Employment opportunities have never been better for NurseAides and Home Health Aides.

    Since 1990, all Nurse Aides and Home Health Aides mustcomplete an approved training program to be eligible foremployment. Students completing this program will beeligible and qualified to take the State Nurse AideCompetency Exam and Home Health Care Exam.

    The Orchard View Community Education Nurse Aide/HomeHealth Aide course is an approved 200+ hour trainingprogram developed in cooperation with and endorsed bynursing home facilities and home health care agencies inthe Muskegon area.     Medical Assistants, as healthcare professionals, performadministrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices ofphysicians and other healthcare practitioners runningsmoothly. They will find employment in private and publichospitals, as well as inpatient and outpatient facilities. Giventheir role as healthcare professionals, the demand formedical assistants is on the rise.     Fast TracksSimilar to the daytime Career Tracks, the Fast Trackclasses offer several pathways. Since they are held inthe evening, they are very fast-paced and requiremuch home study. Ideally, the classes are geared

    toward students who have keyboarding skills and aresomewhat computer literate. Cost is only $997!

    The Fast Tracks meet Tuesday and Wednesdayevenings for 12 weeks5:00pm to 9:00pm.

    Attendance is mandatory for all students. If a studentgets behind because of poor attendance it is difficult tocatch up; after the second absence the directorreserves the right to drop the student from the

    program.

    ACCESS 2007

    Access is a powerful, yet easy-to-use, databasemanagement program, designed to provide an efficientsystem for storing large amounts of data. Through thissystem, any one piece of information can be quickly located,yet it includes many features for manipulating all the storedinformation. You can, for example sort and reorganize thedata, extract and work with subsets of the information, designcustom forms for entering and viewing the information, andproduce sophisticated reports for presenting the data.

    We offer three levels of Access instruction, each level is 8hours of training: At the Introduction level, the student willlearn to create a fully functioning database using tables,forms, queries and reports. By understanding thefoundations, the students will be ready for the Intermediatelevel, which focuses on increasingly more complex queries,

    forms, and reports, and modifying table properties. TheAdvanced level provides opportunities to customize thetables, forms, and reports, creating action queries andautomating the database using macros and commandbuttons.

    All students should have at least keyboarding skills, a basicunderstanding of a PC , and have taken the prior level of
