Core Subjects - Statutory All students will study : • English Language (1 GCSE) • English Literature (1 GCSE) • Maths (1 GCSE) • Science (Triple or Combined 3 or 2 GCSEs) • RE (1 GCSE) • PE (non exam)
Option 1The majority of students must choose one of the following options:
• Geography • History • French • German • Spanish • Italian
Options 2 and 3Students can choose any two options from the following:

German Food Technology Resistant Materials
Italian Graphic Design Computing
Spanish Media Studies Study Support
Opting for MFL(Modern Foreign Languages)
• Taster Spanish/Italian sessions within lessons
• Students opting for MFL are required to write a paragraph explaining WHY they would like to take the subject(s)
• This will take part during MFL lessons
Pre-Option Survey
• Gives an indication of the options which students are considering
• Gives teachers the opportunity to give feedback on students’ suitability for the course based on their current attitude to learning and progress
• Relevant feedback from teachers can be discussed at the options interviews with SLT/HoY
• Recommendation that students should be achieving at least ‘Good’ in their Responsibility for Progress grades on their report
