Half Term 1Unit Title: Macbeth by William Shakespeare(Shakespeare – Paper 1 section A)

Content: In-depth study and close annotation of the whole Shakespeare play. Pupils will be given opportunities to develop the key skills of the Assessment Objectives which include developing a personal response to the play, using textual references/quotations to support interpretations, analysing language, form and structure and considering the context behind the play. Pupils will also be assessed on their ability to use a range of vocabulary and sentence structures and the accuracy of their spelling and punctuation.Assessment:Pupils will complete a mid-point and end of unit assessment to monitor progress, practise exam skills and prepare for assessment under exam conditions. They will also be assessed for a final time on this text as part of the Paper 1 mock examination.

Half Term 1Unit Title: AQA Anthology poetry cluster: Power and Conflict(Poetry cluster – Paper 2, Section B)

Content: Study and annotation of all 15 poems in the power and conflict cluster of the AQA Past and Present: poetry anthology. Pupils will be given opportunities to develop the key skills of the Assessment Objectives which include developing a personal response to the poems, using references/quotations to support interpretations, analysing language, form and structure and making links between poems.

Assessment:Pupils will complete one mid-point assessment to monitor progress, practise exam skills and prepare for assessment under exam conditions.

Half Term 1Unit Title: Pre-exam revision lessons(Modern text – Paper 2, Section A)(Unseen poetry – Paper 2, Section C)

Content:Main focus on revision of the specific modern text studied (either An Inspector Calls or Blood Brothers or Lord of the Flies) and unseen poetry section of the Paper 2 exam.

Half Term 2Unit Title: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens(19th Century novel – Paper 1 section B)

Half Term 1Unit Title: Finance

Content: Learners will understand the sources of finance available when starting a business; the costs involved when starting and running a business; how to create break even charts and cash flow forecasts, and how internal and external influences affect a business.

Assessment: Pupils will complete 4 internally assessed assignments. The first will assess the understanding of start up and running costs, levels of break even and cash flow forecasts. The second will assess understanding of how the calculate break even and associated costs. The third will assess understanding of how to set up and calculate a cash flow forecast. The fourth will assess understanding of how internal and external factors influence how a business meets its objectives.

Pupils will then sit an externally assessed exam testing knowledge of the first 4 units of work.

Half Term 1Unit Title: Produce a Business Plan for a Business.

Content: In this unit learners will choose an idea for a business/enterprise and develop a business plan for this idea, to include company description, market analysis, marketing, people and operations, financial plan and forecasts.

Assessment: Pupils will be internally assessed by completing their own business plan with the 5 main key sections.

Content: In this unit learners will evaluate the process they went through in creating their business plan, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of their research, their use of business concepts and techniques, the feasibility of their business idea and the overall presentational quality of their plan

Content: Develop understanding of heat transfer, nutrient conservation, recipe modification, using micro-organisms, working characteristics of macronutrients and chemical reactions. Students will learn through theory, practical food investigation and practical skill development.Food investigation brief to research, plan, carry out and analyse results under controlled conditions.Also revision topics for mock exam.

Assessment: There will be opportunities for pupils to peer and self-assess prior to the assessment, as well as formative teacher assessment. All NEA work is teacher assessed following the WJEC Eduqas GCSE grading criteria. Task 1 is weighted at 15%.

Content: Complete research section, analyse findings and complete planning section. Carry out 3 hour practical assessment according to the exam board brief.

Content: Students study a variety of activities from those falling in to the categories above. The focus is on further developing more advanced skills and experimenting with more complex tasks in an attempt to be creative. Using tactics and strategy to outwit opponents is more prevalent. In GCSE/BTEC students follow the specified syllabus. Topics include “Leading Sports Activities” and “Sports Psychology”.

Assessment: Assessment in one activity per term. GCSE/BTEC written assessments are ongoing

Content: Pupils will gain further knowledge and understanding on materials and techniques. This will include product maintenance, fabric colouring and decoration. Pupils will look further at the impact the textiles and fashion industry has on social, moral and environmental issues. Content: After patterns have been drafted pupils will create a prototype. Pupils will gain understanding on lay plans and the process for making their products. Prototypes will be tested against the specification and modifications made and justified before making in the actual fabrics.

Half Term 2Unit Title: Exam Revision

Content: Pupils will complete the evaluation of the product they have created. Evaluations will take various forms including evaluating against an existing product, evaluating against the specification and testing with the products target market. Exam Revision will begin for Section A of the examination. Pupils will be given the context of the exam design question after the 1st March.
