10. Specialized Interest
Two areas of interest have been administrative or management issues related to
the delivery of leisure and the broad topic of aging and leisure. In the latter,
topics investigated have included fear of crime, television use, broad policy
issues, intergenerational programming, camping and outdoor activities,
volunteerism, older adult education, older minorities and leisure and leisure for
older developmentally disabled adults.

Approximately 12 management majors (graduate), 2 current thesis/project advisees.
16. My research interests have been in the area of leisure and aging and the area of
leisure for adults with developmental disabilities. A variety of topics in these general
areas have been dealt with over the years in writings and papers. Currently a project
with Special Olympics is exploring the meaning of that program for adults as they
age; interviews are about to begin on this research. I have also been involved over
recent years with papers dealing with sport management as our doctoral students
have left and asked for assistance with publication.
