BRIEF PROFILE After completing his first degree, Dr Mworia joined Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) stationed at Kiboko Range Research Station (KRRS) assigned to grazing management and rangeland rehabilitation programmes. He later joined the University of Nairobi where he did a PhD in Plant Ecology and is currently a Senior Lecturer. At the School of Biological Sciences (SBS) and College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (CAVS) Dr Mworia teaches a wide a range of courses related to ecology, environmental management and resource inventory. He is also engaged in postgraduate programmes and has supervised 8 theses and examined over 15 theses. Dr Mworia has also been actively involved in research largely on ecology and environmental management in semi-arid and arid areas, and aspects climate change. This is evidenced by the 7 international research grants he has been awarded since 1998 and his current research engagement on climate change. He has published extensively on pastoral land degradation, invasive species, wildlife utilization patterns and botanical assessments as evidenced by 1 book chapter, 2 books and 14 papers. Dr Mworia has also edited 1 book and peer reviewed 12 international journal manuscripts. Dr. Mworia has also been an environmental consultant for 12 projects covering; EIA of construction works, vegetation status assessments and indigenous knowledge systems.
