Creighton University School of Dentistry Omaha, Nebraska 2011-Present Dean 2003-Present Professor, General Dentistry 1998-2011 Associate Dean for Research 1996-1998 Assistant Dean for Research and Continuing Education 1995-1996 Director of Research 1995-2009 Director, Center for Oral Health Research 1995-2003 Associate Professor, General Dentistry Currently dean of School of Dentistry. Led successful CODA accreditation with no recommendations in 2012. Exceeded budget in each year as dean while enhancing student outcome measurements. Created a unique visiting industrial scholar program—the only one of its kind in US dental schools. Completed 18 month Ignatian Colleagues Program (ICP) June 2012-January 2014. Previously was chief research administrator for the School of Dentistry. Initiated and was the founding Director of the Masters in Oral Biology program. Responsible for development and funding of a vibrant research program and facilitating faculty collaboration in research. Has executed over 190 laboratory and 40 clinical research projects and generated over $2,500,000 of extramural funding leading to a “commendation” from the 1998 American Dental Association accreditation site visit team. Successful at attracting funding from 15 different corporate sponsors. Published over 200 abstracts and more than 60 manuscripts and is on the editorial board of Operative Dentistry. 1993 - 1995 Director, Research and Development Dentsply International, Trubyte Division York, Pennsylvania Overall management responsibility for new product development related to removable prosthodontics for the Trubyte laboratory division of Dentsply International. Specific areas of development: castable ceramics, polymers for denture teeth and denture bases, and visible light cured prosthodontic and restorative materials. Responsible for both clinical and technical research and development. Involved in developing overall strategies to meet divisional goals from a technical viewpoint. Significant contact with outside agencies such as the ADA and FDA as related to product development as well as professional relations. Full budget responsibility for technical and clinical R&D, and educational services, managing a staff of over 20 people including chemists, engineers, dental technicians and dentists. Also responsible for technical services and education functions related to removable prosthodontics including curriculum development for, and presentation of, didactic and hands-on classes.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (Continued) 1990 - 1993 Director, Clinical Research Dentsply International, Trubyte Division York, Pennsylvania Specific responsibility for verifying the safety and efficacy of new products by negotiating, implementing and monitoring research protocols for primate and human testing. Responsible for the preparation of product instructions when related to clinical use. Direct project management duties for development programs of direct-clinical use products. General responsibility for providing input into all phases of new product development, marketing, advertising and professional relations in support of the goals of the Division. Provided professional input in evaluating outside inventions brought to Dentsply for commercialization. Budget responsibility for professional research activities including clinical research protocols. 1989 - 1990 Associate Director, Professional Research Dentsply International, Trubyte Division York, Pennsylvania Support position providing clinical input into all phases of new product development.
