European Collaboration KM3NET6 to design a large neutrino telescope in the Mediterranean.. • He participated actively in international research projects R&D to design silicon detectors for the ATLAS experiment and to study the characteristics of a new type of silicon detectors, resistant to high radioactive doses (ATLAS Forward Tracker and ROSE, eg [357, 232,233,92,95]) as well as in the design of large Astroparticle detectors (HELAZ eg [C6, C7, C8] - solar neutrinos, dark matter), He also participated in R&D projects for construction, by the Greek industry, for DAQ electronic systems for the CMS detector (CMS-TriDAS, eg [C18]). 3.2 Contribution to the experimental Particle and Astroparticle Physics • He studied in depth the production dynamics of charmonium states (eg [287,306,307,342]) in hadronic interactions. These studies have lead to important results for understanding the basic physical mechanisms and the distribution functions of quarks and gluons in nucleons of heavy nuclei. (eg, the work on the production of J / ψ, when hadrons interact with heavy nuclei [351] helped to define the search criteria for quark-gluon plasma.). • He has studied the dynamics of production of particles (charmed, strange and b particles) and the hadronization of quark and gluon jets (eg, [328,316,282, 289, 268, 258, 254, 253,252, 235, 227, 223, 201, 219, 193, 169]) produced in the decays of Z0 (eg [324, 278, 231, 131, C12]). [D1] to [D13]). • He and his HOU research group participated actively in the design study (Conceptual and Technical Design Report, [355], [358]) for KM3NeT, a large underwater telescope in the Mediterranean. Their main contribution comprises a) the development of methods and software for accurate simulation, as well as algorithms and software for the accurate estimation of the neutrino physical parameters through the reconstruction of the daughter-muon tracks ( analysis package HOURS - HOU Reconstruction and Simulation, eg [ A3], [3], [355] [358]), b) the evaluation of the sensitivity of several detector configurations in detecting (discovering) galactic and extragalactic sources and measuring diffuse neutrino fluxes (eg [A1] [355] [358 ]), c) the development of experimental methodology and the design, construction and evaluation of prototype detectors for absolute calibration (systematic and statistical errors in the track parameters estimation) of the undersea neutrino telescope, using extensive air showers(eg [A2], [2], [12], [C1] [355] [358]), c) the conceptual design, the contribution in the construction10 of prototypes, and the functional evaluation of digitization electronics (eg, [A4], [4], [C2]).
