Ph.D(Birmingham, UK) on a research topic “An Inquiry into Corporate Tax
Base in India”.

Guided successfully 11 Ph.D candidates and 6 more doctoral students are
presently working
3. As Co-ordinator of Research Programme (2012-Present):
Responsibility of administering a research programme on Agri-risk
Management funded by UGC under Special Assistance Programme (SAP).

4. As Chairman/Member of Doctoral Committee ( 2005- present ):
Reviewed and recommended close to 100 synopses of Ph.D students- both for
Ph.D registration and theses submission.

Adjudicated close to 50 Ph.D theses in the area of Commerce and Management
referred to me by various Universities in the country

Undertaken a pioneering research in the field of monsoon risk management
focusing on design and development of monsoon (rainfall) derivatives for

1. Department Level:
(1) Designed and introduced a new P.G programme in Finance in (2001) -
Master of Financial Management (MFM). The course has been widely
recognised by the financial services industry.
(2) Established Alumni Computer Lab in 2000 in the Department with the help
if 1st batch of M.Com alumni.
(3) Secured UGC‟s Special Assistance Programme (SAP) to the Department
(2012 ) in the thrust area of Agri-risk Management.

(4) Organised Five (5) national/state level seminars & workshops (Annexe 3)
(5) Organised a certificate course in e-commerce (2007) for M.Com.
(6) Designed and developed and introduced new courses on „financial
derivatives‟ for M.Com programme since the academic year 2010-11.
(7) Innovations in Teaching : Designed and Developed close to 50 case studies
in Finance
2. University Level:
Choice Based Credit System (CBCS): worked as member of CBCS Core
Committee. The Committee was responsible to design, develop and implement
CBCS and educate the University teaching faculty. CBCS was successfully
implemented in 2010-11.

XI .Community Outreach Activities
1. Microinsurnce Awareness and Enrolment Mission (MAEM)
Organised a micro-insurance programme by adopting 100 villages in 4 districts
coming under the jurisdiction of University of Mysore. MAEM‟s goal is to
educate and enrol 10,000 beneficiaries ( 100 beneficiaries from each village).
This is organised as a tribute to University Centenary Celebrations (July 2015-
July 2016)
2. Manasa Exhibition (Feb. 2011)- As part of the University‟s Manasa
Exhibition, organised 10 days‟ exhibition on 5 major themes including
consumer rights, stock markets, commodity futures market etc, for the purpose
of creating public awareness .
