Sunny and warm late summer days are enticing visitors and locals into walking-tours in the Black Forest and the Upper Rhine Valley. Grape-gathering and wine-tasting are also appealing in ‘Golden October’ when the leaves show their beaming colors before they lapse. It’s the time of pre-winter activities before you sink in misty November days longing for a fine cup of tea on a cosy sofa reflecting on gifts for Cristmas which arrives out of the blue every year. These triangular wraps are supporting your autumn activities by warming your neck and shoulders and moreover they serve well as a warm underlay when you enjoy your meal alfresco. The ends of the triangle prevent the shawl from slipping and are long enough to sling it around your hip as a topical accessory. The entire garment is constructed only with knit sts and short rows and works up quickly because you only knit one color at the time. You may use any yarn because it’s an efficient stash-reducer. GAUGE : 20 sts/32 rows = 4 inches in garter stPattern: garter stHINT: P first and last st in every row, the result is a good looking edge.If you are an avid lover of sewing up ends I won’t blame you for your passion. You’ll save a lot of time if you weave in MC with the second st in every other row.The cuspids are constructed with short rows. Use the method you like (yarn over,yo, method, wrap and turn, W&T method etc.)When it is time to turn the work around and work back in the other direction, theinstructions will simply say "turn". Place marker (plm) after the turn. If you arriveat a marker remove marker (rm).

Markers should be fixed on knitwork not on needle.
