Firstly, the restaurant located in DLF Emporio, Vasant Kunj, is spread over an area of 4,200 sq feet, a space not found in many fine dining restaurants. The space and luxury define the joint that serves European, Italian and Thai cuisine. Dishes from all the three sections have been selected carefully. Here, one can get the food customised to suit one’s palette. Thus eating at Auma is a per- sonal experience. Soups and salads are the mainstay here and should not be missed. Soups like Kaeng Cherd Tauhu Lod, a clear vegetable and silky bean soup garnished with sautéed garlic, and the wild mushroom soup with the essence of truf- fle are surely a treat. The fine quality of the leafy vegetables makes the salads refreshing and colourful too. Pizzas are available in regu- lar and low calorie varieties. The base is whole wheat and one can choose from a variety of toppings including spinach, ham, pine nuts, artichoke, brae (soft cheese), prawns and scamorza (cheese made from milk of an Italian cow). There are plenty of choices in both vegetarian and non-veg- etarian food. Different types of mushrooms and prawns have been used extensively in many dishes and some of the favourites are button mushrooms and cashewnuts cooked with Thai stir-fried sauce and tiger prawns stir-fried with salt and pep- per. Mashed potato with roast- ed chicken leg that is not com- monly found on the menu of a fine dining restaurant is sure- ly a delight. Potatoes are mashed to perfection in butter and the chicken is succulent. Pastas are no different here and one can do without them. But perhaps what is most enjoyable and unforgettable at Auma is the sweet delights. A spoonful of tiramisu, cappuc- cino foam and baileys ice cream is the perfect way to wrap up the meal. And if one still has the appetite for more then there are homemade baileys, Belgian chocolate, strawberry, caramel ice cream and green apple and fresh lime sorbet. The interiors of Auma have been done tastefully, especial- ly the semi-enclosed round wooden structures add to the tasteful experience. eatingout Auma First Floor, DLF Emporio Mall, Vasant Kunj Ph: 43151251 Customised experience A piano concert in Tihar to celebrate R-Day Auma serves European, Italian and Thai cuisine.
