Customizing Chrome: Customizing Download Behavior
Chrome Download Behavior
By default, Chrome saves all downloads to a Downloads
folder in your “My Documents” folder. When you click on a
download link, a special downloads toolbar is opened at the
bottom of the browser window.
1. The download toolbar will show you the progress of your current download. Once complete, the
downloaded file will remain as a button on the download toolbar.
2. To launch the downloaded file, simply click on the button in the download toolbar.
3. There is also a small drop-down arrow on the right-hand side of the button. Selecting this drop-down
arrow will open a menu with more options.

Option to Choose Where to Save File Each Time
If you do not want all of your downloads automatically saved to one location, then click on the checkbox
next to “Ask where to save each file before downloading”.
With this setting in place, Chrome will prompt you every time you initiate a download to select a location
on your computer to save the file.
