ThisquotefromGordonCullensTownscapepinpointsmyinterestinarchitecture,urbandesignandplanning.Thecityisaplaceofmeetingandgatheringofpeopleandhowitisperceivedbyitsinhabitantsis,inmyopinion,verymuchdependentonitsurbanstructure.Ibelievethatthereisaclearconnectionbetweenqualityofurbanenvironmentsandthegeneralwellbeingofusinhabitants.Environmentsthatarecharacterizedbyhighqualitygivefantasticopportunitiesforrisinggenerations’possibilitiestoacquireself-confidenceregardlessofsocialclass.
Whatfirstattractedmedtostudyplanningwastheopportunitytoaquireexpertiseonoururbanenvironmentaswellasbeingapartontheprocessofcreatingsustainableandhighqualityurbanenvironments.WhatledmetocontinuestudyarchitecturewastheopportunitytoincreasemycreativityanddesignabilityasIbelievethat,inordertobeaexcellenturbandesigner,youneedtohaveextensiveknowledgeinthefieldofarchitecture,allthewayfrommasterplantobuildingmaterial.
Sofarmyprofessionalexperienceinmunicipalplanningandarchitecturalconsultinghasgivenmetheopportunitytoworkwithurbanplanningproposals,detailplanningandbuildingdesign.AsforthefutureI’mveryinterestedinurbandesigningeneralandthedesignofpublicspacesinparticularandasaprofessionalmywishistocontributetoasustainablesocietybydesigninghumanscaleurbanenvironmentsandpublicspaces.
