Skills Aspects studied on University Degree – - Animation Principles and Animation Production which focused on developing core elements of the animation production process and 2D and 3D software skills alongside traditional hand drawn animation. - Visual Research for Animation, Sound and Visualisation, Narrative, Pre-Production, Cartoon Animation and Character Animation and Performance allowed developing more in depth knowledge of particular skills in designing and producing character animation, visual storytelling, compositing and editing. - Learning about creating low/high polygon models and how to rig, skin, animate and texture (UV Mapping) onto character models. Facial animations using bones, blend shapes, controllers such as nurbs, driven keys etc. - Group projects based on clients or briefs helped to develop particular strengths, organization, collaboration and studying an animation related subject in depth. 2D – Concept Art, Pre-Production ( storyboards, animatics etc…) Illustration, Digital Painting, Graphic Design, Tradi- tional Animation on Light Boxes and digitally, Life Drawing, Painting, Fine Art. 3D – Character Animation, Generalist, Modelling, Rigging, Pre Vis, Texturing. Lighting Software - 2D Animation – Adobe Flash, Dragonframe, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator 3D Animation – Autodesk Maya, Zbrush Other – Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects Other Skills: As an animation student with over 3 years experience in animation and fine art, I have gained valuable skills that is required of the industry. This includes, working as part of team, being a hard-worker and making sure that I am organised and always performing to the best of my ability in order to fulfil the needs and requirements of a company or client. - My hobbies and interests mainly consist of drawing, creative writing, reading books/manga, watching films/anime, playing video games and animating. - I have always had an artistic eye so producing art pieces and developing my skills by taking art classes outside of my degree and taking part in online tutorials has helped me to do this. Also, in my free time outside of my degree I like to improve on my animating skills in 2D and 3D by having tutorials and finding/producing my own references in order to do this. - By watching anime and films and playing video games for enjoyment, I am able to analyse particular aspects of them, for example: the camera shots, angles, compositon, animation or even the colour theory which helps to inspire my own work and come up with ideas for future animations/stories or drawings for the future. - Further inspiration I gain is threw industry talks and attend- ing events such as the London Comic Con every year.
