KBCSA wel-comed new students from all around the world with dinner of Korean Spicy Fried Chicken and had a fun time with recreation, information on campus life, and hot spots in San Angelo for freshmen. There were 41 students who attended the event. Among them, 10 new students attended worship on Sunday!

SONORA REPORT Church leaders from several CVBA churches have been to Sonora to assess ways to assist them in their flood

recovery.

THE GOOD NEWS… No lives have been lost and 5 born again! The Sonora community itself is responding in incredible ways. Within hours of the flood hitting, food donations poured into the Civic Center. By Monday, they had a well-organized distribution center for clothing and food preparation already up and running. Texas Baptist Men Mud Out Crews are at work cleaning homes, ripping out sheetrock and applying a mold retardant chemical to the exposed wood. When they finish, there will be a great need for help to put up new sheet rock. There is also a Shower Unit from Midland/Odessa on site. Damage to the FBC Education Building is extensive but all the sheetrock and flooring has been removed and repair plans are being made. Matt Killough, pastor of FBC, is doing a great job getting his church back on their feet and ministering to the community. He needs prayer support for strength and wisdom.

THE OPPORTUNITIES…

Pray they do NOT get any more rain! Primera Iglesia Bautista received a lot of damage. Long-term help will be needed to assist this Spanish- speaking congregation in their recovery efforts. Contact Jonathan Fernandez (325.812.6252) about ways you can help. Concrete work and drop ceiling work is needed. Matt Killough has requested gift cards, Visa or Master card, that can be used anywhere. These will be passed out to people he encounters who are in need. They should be $50 or $25 cards. If a family has a larger need, he can give them two or three cards. Sheet rocking will be a big need in the days ahead. You can contact Matt at the address below. The best way to contact him is through text. It may be a day or two before he can respond. Be sure to identify yourself when calling/texting. Items collected may be taken to Sonora yourself or brought to the CVBA office. Jeff will be making at least one trip a week to Sonora. We will collect items and take them to Matt for distribution. We are also coordinating with Texas Baptist Men. Many of you may already have contacts in Sonora and can help though them. Whatever we do, ultimately the desire is for God to get the glory above all else. To that end, we want to work through FBC to help them strengthen their impact on the community.
