In a market saturated with online music services like Pandora, Spotify, Grooveshark and Turntable.fm, CVOX had the challenge of introducing a budding, socially driven next generation Internet radio service.Senzari needed a strong identity to match its superior features, sleek user interface, huge catalog of music and socially integrated Facebook features including seamless real-time chatting, to compete for media attention among established market competitors.In positioning a new service like Senzari, CVOX approached the task with a two-fold strategy: First, create a global multi-market launch highlighting the company’s financial growth opportunity coupled with the booming social influence of Facebook. Second, reach top-tier technology publications in the U.S. to build credibility among early adopters for the Senzari platform. This effort would create ripple effects in traditional and social media to build a user base and generate investor interest. Senzari was featured in Tech Crunch, PC Magazine, The Next Web, Hypebot, VH1 Brazil, Jornal Valor Economico, IG.com’s Guilherme Barros, Exame.com, adNews, Rede Innova, among others.

A World Bank backed Latin American start-up, YellowPepper has emerged as a market leader in the mobile financial services sector.

CVOX has been instrumental in building the Company’s profile through media outreach efforts in the US and across the region, landing coverage in more than 30 media outlets, including Financial Times, Fast Company, CNN Español, MIT Technology Review and America Economia among others.

CVOX also spearheaded a social media campaign to promote Yel lowPepper for the Inter-American Development Bank’s beyondbanking Awards, helping the Company win the ConnectBanking prize for the utilization of new information and communication technologies.

We also helped YellowPepper develop a new marketing and branding platform that helps them reach international stakeholders - such as financial institutions, multilateral organizations, governmental organizations, merchants and telecommunications companies - and support their business development.

Idea.me is the only regional crowdfunding platform in Latin America, helping the region’s talented community of creative professionals bring their ideas to life. The p la t form prov ides an in ternat iona l reach v ia crowdfunding, social networking and value-added services.

The fundamental goal of Idea.me is to provide financial support for creative and artistic Latin American talent in all their expressions, turning their ideas into reality on a global stage. Idea.me serves as the conduit for projects by local talent, which often fail to come to fruition due to lack of financing, to be shared and allow the public to participate in creative endeavors of interest and worthy of development, thus capitalizing on the spirit of community and stimulating local economies.

The site has been featured in multiple global and regional publications, including The New York Times, CNN Español and Estrategia y Negocios among others. It has now emerged as Latin America’s regional crowdfounding platform.

!   Now in its third year, The FIU AVCC has emerged as the premier Latin American summit for innovation, technology and entrepreneurship. The Conference brings together latin American innovators, global venture capitalists and world renowned speakers in a dynamic program that includes expert panels, pitch contests, a hackathon and several networking events. Attracting the necessary talent to promote the growth and benefits of the Conference on a regional level are crucial to its success. The question is how?

!   The challenge the AVCC initially faced was gaining recognition without having a history in the space. In order to attract the top talent of startups throughout the U.S. and Latin America, CVOX implemented both a traditional and new media strategy that highlighted the accomplishments of the speakers and presenting companies. CVOX also implemented a strong social media component in order to give the Conference the momentum to attract talent to generate traditional media interest as well as the interest from the investor community.

!   These results directly increased the level of interest and

boasted the quality of attendants in the investment community of angel investors and venture capitalists to lend credibility for the 2011 AVCC and beyond. The AVCC was featured in main global, U.S., regional and in-country media.

CVOX co-organized the largest - and first multinational - hackathon in Miami's history. The Miami component was a AT&T Mobile Application Hackathon put on through a collaborative effort by local companies, including CVOX, GeekyBeach, LegalFile IT, Tres Mares and FIU's Americas Venture Capital Conference (AVCC). It brought together 165 local hackers to develop mobile apps utilizing several high profile API's including Amazon Web Services, Github, Sphero  and others.

Additionally, in collaboration with LAB Miami, a Miami based co-working space, and Google+, we connected over 100 hackers in co-working spaces in three Latin American countries. Argentina, Chile and Colombia, competed in a one-day hack to develop a mobile app for Almira Technology Labs, a Spain-based mobile voice application company.

Overall, the hackathons gave over $7,500 in prize money and services to five teams.The event was covered by local media that helped spread the word, such as The Miami Herald and The New Times.

The ever-elusive “techie” is not easily found amongst the beaches and swamps of South Florida. The question was how to attract the most rare of professionals to compete for $10,000 in a 24-hour hackathon in Miami?

Tech talent looks for credibility, challenges and funding opportunities. In building awareness and support for HackDay Miami, our first objective was to build alliances and engage the most influential local Technorati. Communicating with these tech leaders, we were able to identify a common goal: To showcase South Florida’s great tech talent and promote the city as a tech hub to the Americas.

Changing the negative image of a hacker also proved to be a challenge with local media being unfamiliar with the tech industry, but this informative process ultimately served as an opportunity to “hook” interest in the hackathon and educate local stakeholders on this important technology community. The participation of local government officials, the investor community and positive coverage of HackDay Miami in the Sun Sentinel, Miami Herald, and NBC helped set the foundation for the development of the local tech community.

In our ongoing efforts to develop our technology business, we developed an integrated multimedia + event platform that promotes, informs and engages the Miami technology/innovation community and promotes the recruitment of Latin American entrepreneurs to use the city as a regional incubation and/or acceleration hub while attracting venture capitalists and mentors from U.S. technology centers.

The platform consists of a digital hyperlocal media property that reports, highlights and promotes the people, events, companies and services operating in Miami.

The platform also includes a robust event component designed to bring the community together in-person via technology meet-ups, start-up classes, speaker-series, hackathons and social gatherings. We created an event partnership with LAB Miami to co-host a series of educational meet-ups on a range of subjects (technology, design, new media, business development) designed to help our audiences in the development and launch of new ventures.  Already the site has been featured in The Miami Herald and The New Times and is in discussions to create partnerships with other media outlets to expand its audience and mission.
