● Country – a nation with its own government,occupying a particular territory

● Cyberspace – the notional environment in which communication over computer networks occurs

Cyberspace Posture

● The hightest cyber crime traffic originator in 2013 at Akamai Network– 36.6million cyber attacks in the past three years

● Internet and Social Media penetration– Via cellular network

● In 2013, eCommerce generates transactions at around 130 trillion IDR (7% of Indonesia's Internet users)

● eCommerce growth in Indonesia around 42% (2012 - 2015)

Potency related eCommerce

● Indonesia as a potential market – In 2012, eCommerce traffics are mainly originated

from Jakarta (41%); at the mid 2013 only (22%)

– Indonesia is predicted to have around 74m (2014) mid-class and 141m (in 2020)

– Credit card has a low penetration rate

Final Remarks

● Cyberspace can be seen as a new– Warfare or Economy

● Master in Cyberspace-related technology is mandatory– Deterrance effect, soverignty

● Develop the industries and not just know-how– Expose them to regional/international market– Give some incentives to improve local's capacities– Nurture and protect them
