The following pupils have been chosen as winners of the com-petition to design posters with the Schools Aims on them which will be displayed across the school: Morven Greenlees 1R1, Freya Bishop 2R2 and Rebecca Shillan 4K2 who will each receive £25 shopping vouchers. Runners up prizes of £10

shopping vouchers go to Nina Wills 1K1, Anna Fraser 1K1, Holly Jarvis 2R2 and Chiana Marquardt 1K2. Congratulations to all

who participated and particularly to the winners!

Thanks to the Stirling Sub-Aqua Club who sent 9 of their in-structors on a Sunday earlier last month to give our pupils a 'try dive' session (in the Wallace High pool). Many pupils are now considering learning to scuba dive before their Wallacea South Africa expedition next year since they enjoyed it so much. In total, 35 pupils from Dunblane and Wallace were given one-to-one scuba diving tuition (free of charge).

Our MAD (Make A Difference) Group ran a highly successful Coffee Morning for staff and S6 students in the Staffroom at the end of last term. This was in aid of Strathcarron Hospice and raised the magnificent total of £520 for this worthy local cause. Thanks and con-gratulations to all involved.

Tuesday 22 April is the start of the new Spring/Summer Menu Cycle. The catering service wish to thank all pupils/staff who gave feedback on the samples provided by the catering staff over the last few months. Each pupil will be getting a 'Z' card again this year, which has all the info they need from Menu, Prices & Dates to Theme days. There is also info on the Fresh Eating website - pupils can register once and start collecting points straight away for eating healthy each day, which can then be turned into Cinema tickets or Bowling tickets - check www.fresh-eating.co.uk where parents and pupils can make the right choices.

Our annual Spring Concert run by our Music Depart-ment took place in the Murray Hall last Tuesday. Mr Cooper, Mrs Grant, Mrs Gunning and Mrs Spencer, who along with our Music Tutors prepared dozens of pupils for a first class evening of music and song. It was a magnificent evening and augurs well for the forth-coming tour of Tuscany!

The Dunblane High Junior Maths Challenge Team, consist-ing of Jamie Welsh S2, Cameron Lonsdale S2, Hannah Rose S1 and David Clark S1, competed in the Regional Final against the cream of Scotland on Wednesday 19th of March at the Forth Valley College, Falkirk Campus. They fought off a strong field of 18 other teams to come 3RD overall in the National heats. This was an exceptional per-formance as our team competed for the first time in the event against teams with experience from the previous year. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and competi-tion and look forward to improving their standing next year!

Congratulations to four of our young people Brian Iroeg-bu, Clare Stansfield, Ruby Pollok and Iain Davies on reaching the UK final of this prestigious competition which test skills in both Lab work and Scientific Knowledge. They travelled to Loughborough University for the final and were a great credit to our school. Thanks to Mr Connery and Mrs Sutherland (Chemistry) who organised this trip.

Our annual trip to the First World war Battlefields was a huge success. 59 pupils and 6 staff returned tired but safe last Tuesday evening. This tour is always a wonderful educational and emotional ex-perience for all involved but we must pay tribute to the exemplary conduct of our young people throughout the trip. This was commented on by staff on the cross channel ferry. Thanks to Mrs McEwan and all staff for making this trip possible.

Over the holiday period and from the start of Study Leave (which begins at 15.25 on Friday 25 April) all SQA candidates should be planning their study time very carefully in preparation for the exams which begin on TUESDAY 29 APRIL. All of our candidates have been issued with Study Packs containing essential information on matters relating to the SQA exams, results, MySQA and Study Planners to help our candidates plan their time.

S5 have been issued with a leaflet headed: ‘Sixth Year 2014-15 Essential Information for Students & Parents’ which contains information on uniform purchase and the S6 Conference on 5 and 6 June.

Our S2 Football Team faced St. Mungo's in the semi final of the Stirlingshire Cup having beaten Wallace High School 4-3 recently on penalties. The team finished second in the Forth Valley League after a string of excellent performances. The boys recently lost the league playoff semi-final in an incredibly close match against Larbert High. Excellent effort, commit-ment and enthusiasm from the pupils have given us a fun and memorable campaign this year!
