Greetings Otters!
Summer is finally over and now it’s time for September- a month
full of school and SERVICE! Now it’s back to hitting up those text-
books. I hope everyone had a great first two weeks of school
and hasn’t had a heavy load of homework. Make sure to get or-
ganized and stay on task. Prioritize your time wisely to help get
back into that school mode! With a new school year, it comes
with new faces otters; so remember to recruit anyone you can to
add to our Otter Ohana! Since school has begun, I hope many
of the clubs have already begun holding club/ officer meetings.
Be sure to meet up with your officers and current members to
come up with good strategies in recruiting new members during
Club Rush Week coming up! I am always here as a resource, so
feel free to contact me if you need help with ideas, information,
or tools. Something that all clubs should be getting ready for is
club rush. This is your chance to showcase Key Club and all its
wonderful attributes! Bring out that banner, wear something
crazy, and put on a show! Do anything that will catch the eyes
of future members! J Since Fall is coming, we’ll be selling Ameri-
can Apparel Jackets. Make sure to order yours now so you can
match with your lovely division! Also, next month we’ll be having
our Region Training Conference. If you would like a facebook
overlay, please e-mail me at [email protected]. Other
than that, I hope to see all of your OTTERly amazing faces at the
upcoming Division events! Thank you all for reading this month’s
newsletter and I hope to see you soon!

Olympic Day
Hey Otters! As you know, we recently had our Summer Olympics this year. The Lon-don Olympics have passed, but the Otter Olympics were hosted last Saturday! If you stopped by, you had a chance to experi-ence fast paced competition. We battled in Duck, Duck, Goose, we clashed at Dragon Tails, and we duked it out with the Egg Toss. Besides those nail-biting sports, we discussed the new Task Coordi-nators, and hosted the August DCM. If you didn't come out, you missed out! See you next time otters! *This year's Otter Olympics were hosted by your very own Mile Square Park* _Baron Nguyen LQHS

I currently attend Garden Grove High School, and am a proud Argo! But don't worry, guys; I'm even prouder Otter. I enjoy surfing! Or at least, surfing the World Wide Web, hahah. I enjoy lis-tening to music, reading, and being awesome. I'm pretty good at that last one. True story. Let's make this year even better than last year. Otter out! — Julie Vu, Pediatric Trauma Program Task Coordinator

I will be that guy that will be relaying you information on what Kiwanis Family is up to and assisting our fabulous LTG and the Division in any way possible. I will also be the ex-pert you can ask about Kiwanis Family. I’m a senior at La Quinta High School that absolutely loves comic books, video games, and all that good stuff. Nerds FTW. Hello! I am Jonathan Huynh, your new March of Dimes Task Coordinator! I hail from Garden Grove High School. I am 17 years old, Chinese-Cambodian, and a boy. I enjoy long walks to the refrigerator and eating! My hobbies are playing guitar, cook-ing, and volunteering for Key Club, of course! As your March of Dimes Task Coordi-nator, I will be educating you guys all about March of Dimes. I'll tell you what it is, why it's important, and how you guys can help out. I look forward to being a part of our divisional board and I'm really excited to be more acquainted with you! YEA, YOU.— Jonathan Huynh, March of Dimes Task Coordinator
Hello everyone,
My name is Thu Cao. Thu is in number two. I am currently a sophomore at La Quinta High School. I love reading, swimming, eating, cheering, and volunteering. I am friendly and talka-tive, but diffident and awkward at first. I am really patient, caring, and easygoing. I always put people's feeling first and then mine is second. I hate bothering or letting someone wait for me. In my childhood, I had never have my own pet because my parents were allergic to it. My strong-est ability is asking money for the fundraising; I always feel confident and bold when asking for donations from strangers. To me, Key Club is like my second family. Through Key Club, I get to know more friends, involve more in community service, build leadership skills and life experi-ences, and become more outgoing and confident. I am extremely excited and a little nervous to help out our Key Club Fourth North in the upcoming Children Miracle Network's plans. Hope I will meet everyone of you guys during the events. — Thu Cao, Children’s Miracle Network Task Coordinator
Other News Hello D04N Otters, Do you know what will keep you warm during Fall Rally? No! Not a Snuggie, but your very own American Apparel Jacket! That's right! I'm Tina Nguyen, your American Apparel Jacket Task Coordinator. If those jackets don't keep you cozy, then my spirit will warm you up. Personally I would be ordering a pink AA jacket, but just for you I'll be ordering teal! I'm Bolsa Grande's Key Club secretary, so I have enough experience to not loose your order. So go ahead! Order as many as you want, maybe even order one for me ;). Past all the silliness though, I'm very dedicated to my work so y'alls are in good hands! Trust these otter paws! — Tina Nguyen, American Apparel Task Coordinator
