Add a new presentation PresentationsletyoucompileD2LePortfolioitemsintoawebprojecttoshowcaseyourachievements.Yourpresentationscanhavemultiplepages.Presentationsprovideapolished,professionalmediumtodemonstrateyourlearningandaccomplishments.

Abannerappearsatthetopofeverypageinapresentation.Thepresentationtitleusuallyappearsinthebanner,muchlikeaheaderinabook.Youcanincludeadditionaltextinthebannerasadescription.Thethemeofthepresentationcontrolsthestyleofthebanner,includingthebackgroundandfontsused.

Themesaredefaultstyletemplatesthatgiveyourpresentationsaconsistentlookandfeel.Themesarecomprisedofstyleswhichcontroloneaspectofthedesign.Forexample,thereareseparatestylesthatcontrolthelookoftitles,links,dates,andimages.

Yourorganizationprovidespresentationthemes,butyoumaybeabletochangesomeorallaspectsofatheme.

5. IntheItemsinCollectionarea,clickAddtoCollection.

Add items to a collection using a tag list Allitemsthatusethetagsthatyouspecifyinthetaglistareautomaticallyaddedtothecollection.Ifyousharethecollectionwithotherusers,youautomaticallysharealloftheitems.

Inordertoaddanitemtoyourcollectionusingataglist,theitemmustcontainallofthetagsidentifiedinthelist.Forexample,ifyoucreateataglistwiththetagsscience,astronomy,andVenus,youmusttagtheitemwithallthreewordsinorderforittoautomaticallyaddtothecollectionuponcreation.Ifyouwanttheitemtoonlyrequireoneofthetags,createthreeseparatetaglistseachcontainingoneofthetagwords.

About assessment settings Enablingcommentsonanartifact,collection,reflection,presentation,orlearningobjectiveallowsuserswhoareviewingtheitemtoleavefeedback.Usethisfeaturetocollaboratewithpeerssotheymaycommentonyourwork,provideconstructivecriticism,orpointoutadditionalresources.

Enablingassessmentsforanartifact,collection,reflection,presentation,orlearningobjectiveallowsuserswiththeappropriatepermissionstoevaluatetheitemusingarubric.Youmustselectwhichrubricyouwantusedwhenyouarebeingevaluatedfromthelistprovidedbyyourorganization.

WhenotherscommentonandassessaniteminyourD2LePortfolio,theirfeedbackbecomesapartoftheitem.Youcanseeitbelowtheitem'sdetailswhenviewingtheitemorthroughthefeedsandwidgetsonyourdashboard.

Youcanenablecommentsandassessmentsforallitemsbydefaultorenablethemindividuallyonanitembyitembasis.

About editing and commenting on D2L ePortfolio items Inordertoleavecomments,assessments,orannotationsonaniteminauser'sD2LePortfolio,youmusthavetheappropriatepermissions.Youcanreceivepermissionstocommenton,assess,oreditauser'sworkinoneoftwoways:

• Theusergivesyoutheappropriatepermissions

• Yousetupaforcedsharinggroupforusersinaparticularcoursethatgivesyoutheappropriatepermissions

Encouraginguserstogiveyoupermissiontocommentonandassessportfolioitemsthatrelatetocourseworkisanexcellentwaytoprovideuserswithinformal,intermittentfeedback.

Submit D2L ePortfolio items to a dropbox folder YoucansubmityourD2LePortfolioitemstoadropboxfolderinD2LLearningEnvironmentforformalassessment.Whenyousubmitanitemtoacoursedropboxfolder,acopyoftheitemgoestotheDropboxtool.FuturechangestotheiteminD2LePortfoliodonottransfertotheDropboxcopy.

Ifyousubmitareflectionorartifacttoadropboxfolder,Quicklinkstoassociateditemswillalsobeincludedinthesubmission.Forinstance,asubmittedartifactwillincludelinkstoassociatedreflections.AsubmittedreflectionwillincludeQuicklinkstoartifactsitisassociatedwith.

Ifyouritemhascommentsandassessmentsonitbutyoudon'twanttoincludethemwithyourDropboxsubmission,youmustedityouritemsothattheAllowotherstoadd/viewcommentsiftheyhavesufficientpermissionandAllowotherstoadd/viewassessmentsiftheyhavesufficientpermissioncheckboxesareclearbeforeyousubmit.Thisdoesnotremovepreviouscommentsandassessmentsfromtheitemitself.Afteryoumakeyoursubmission,youcanselectthecheckboxestore-enablecommentsandassessments.

Sharing items in D2L ePortfolio

About sharing groups Sharinggroupsletyousavethepermissionsyouwantauserorgroupofuserstohavesoyoucanreusethepermissionsforotheritems.Youcancreatesharinggroupsforindividualusersorforallusersinaparticularcourseorgroup.Youcanhavemultiplesharinggroupsforthesameusersthatyouapplyindifferentsituations.Forexample,youcancreatesharinggroupsnamedComment,andEditandReview,andsharethemwiththesamegroupofpeers.Youwouldusethefirstsharinggroupforitemsyouwanttocollectgeneralfeedbackon,andthesecondsharinggroupforitemsthatyouwantotherstocollaborateonorreviseindetail.

Itemsincollectionsandpresentations

Whenyouincludeaniteminacollectionorpresentation,theiteminheritspermissionsfromthecollectionorpresentation(permissionsarecascading),withthefollowingexceptions:

• TheAddAssessmentspermissionisnotinheritedbecauseitrequiresthatarubricbeassociatedwitheachitem.

• TheEditpermissionisnotinheritedbecauseitwouldallowuserstomakemajor,possiblyunwanted,changestoyourD2LePortfolio.Ifyouwantindividualstobeabletoedititemsinacollectionorpresentation,youmustgivethemtheEditpermissiononeachitemindividually.
