The Garden is a Tang garden built in modern times, its architecture and landscaping reminiscent of nature and conducive towards a sense of serenity and tranquility, an ambience in which visitors may enjoy a moment of leisure and peace of mind, whilst reflecting on the profound richness of classical Chinese culture, right in the midst of the urban city hustle and bustle. It is hoped this will help promote the knowledge of and interest in classical Chinese culture. In the garden there are a souvenir shop, vegetarian food restaurant, Chinese teahouse and multi-purpose function room to cater for the various needs of visitors.
Nan Lian Garden is situated at Diamond Hill of Kowloon, taking in the full view of southeast Kowloon. Being a designated public park, occupying an area of 3.5 hectares, Nan Lian Garden is built in the classical Tang Dynasty style (618 AD to 907 AD), on the blue print of Jiangshouju, the only Tang landscape garden the original layout of which can still be placed and traced today, and the shape of which bears a significant resemblance to the Garden site.
Hills and rocks, waters, plants and timber structures are built and arranged according to classical Tang style and rules, accommodating the local environ, and the best view of the sprawling mountain range to the north is taken as the seamless backdrop. Besides adorned with

High Degree of FlexibilityEfficiency and flexibility are crucial to the daily operation of a food factory. Therefore, all the workshops are centrally located; vertical circulations are arranged so that the transportation paths of the raw materials of the finished products will not cross each other causing food contamination.
A new vehicular run-out is provided at Dai Kwai Street such that a one-way circulation path is formed for a smooth and efficient operation.
The existing bakery factory in Cheung Sha Wan became inadequate due to the rapid growth of Maxims’ Group. A new cake and bakery factory was needed in Tai Po Industrial Estate in order to cater for the expansion.
This development is an alteration and addition works with a vertical extension of two-storey to an early 80s building. On the ground floor, through the main entrance, is the loading and unloading area, leading to large walk-in freezers and goods lift lobbies. The above three floors include the new extension house workshops, walk-in freezers, a staff canteen and an office overlooking the Tai Po Industrial Estate.

Ming Festival and Chung Yeung Festival. To assist in channelizing the heavy human flow and the expanded population of elderly and disabled, an additional monumental archway and two staircases were proposed.
The courtyard and the surrounding gardening areas allow family gathering and enhance the natural lighting and ventilation to each hall.
Different from the old-fashioned design, the internal partition of urns store could be removed to allow the couple or the family for putting their urns together as per their wish.
This two-storey columbarium is a new building designed to cope with the increasing demand of cremains storing place. To match up with the present urn houses’ outlook, the traditional Chinese ancient architectural design was adopted, like Chinese glazed roof tiles and stone railing.
There is an important folkway of Chinese to hold memorial ceremony for ancestors or passing person. Hence, the existing columbariums are always overcrowded during Ching

The character kiosk is situated near the Panda Village and Panda Cafe (the Asian Amazing Animal). An oriental outlook with tartan grid in red color was thus proposed.
Together with the landscaping, the design of this character kiosk was successfully blended in with the environment.
This character kisok is situated at the corner of the Waterfront Station, opposite to the Panda Village and Panda Cafe.
The primary objective of this character kisok is to provide a venue for the mascot to take pictures with the tourists. Behind the kiosk, a gentle slope with maintenance walkway were in poor condition and needs repair. Therefore, the whole project is not only to build a kiosk, but also replenish the landscape around and stablize the existing slope.

To cope with end-user’s requirement, the rooms and laboratories were transformed to a bright, welcoming space and were well equipped with the state of the art teaching and learning facilities that offer students a vigorous environment for all-round development.
Throughout the project, we have been in close liaison with the end-users for feasibility study, concept and detailed design, statutory submission, tender preparation and construction supervision.
In regard to the 334 scheme - the new academic structure for senior secondary education and higher education in Hong Kong, the modern red brick buildings in Hung Hom Campus cannot accommodate the increasing number of future students. The campus was therefore under redistribution and rehabitation in order to provide a new teaching and learning environment.

The entire system consists of a pair of escalators at the entrance, an elevated covered walkway along the peripheral of the Sports Centre and a newly added footbridge connection. When completed, it shall provide a safe, convenient and user friendly linkage between the three campuses.
The new building volume aims to response the existing gesture of Wai Hang Sports Centre so as to celebrate the 334 Scheme of new academic structure. The building envelope of new main entrance building volume also aims to incorporate local HKBU buildings morphology and provide a sense of association of learning community.
Located in the heart of the Kowloon Peninsula, the Hong Kong Baptist University consists of three campuses, namely the Ho Sin Hang Campus, the Shaw Campus and the Baptist University Road Campus. The Junction Road, a main traffic thoroughfare, runs across the area and separates the Ho Sin Hang Campus from the other two campuses.

landscaping and also fitting out works. It is difficult to carry out construction works in such a highly congested site. The location of piles could neither sit on the existing caissons nor close to the existing huge trees, a specially designed structure thus proposed to tackle this site condition.
We make use of the space confined, putting the plant rooms underneath the pitched roof, below first floor and even inside the cupola in order to free up more space for the assembly hall and the classrooms.
To fulfill the needs from client, we think outside the box to resolve difficulties.
Situated in a tiny site in Tsing Yi, the three storey high church including one assembly hall and a few Bishop’s offices and classrooms cannot accommodate the increasing number of followers in the neighbourhood. A new three storeys high building extension was therefore designed, and a comprehensive renovation is proposed to this existing church building.

With magnificent view facing the Victoria Harbour, floor to floor height was maximized with plenty of full height windows and french doors. The grandeur of this residence is accentuated by a series of classical motifs such as pitched roof, stone columns, fireplace, mouldings, arched windows and floral metal fences.
This is a luxurious residential development consisting of two residential units on top of a car parking podium.
The gross floor area for each unit is approximately 400 sq.m. and two-storey high. Each of which has a private backyard with individual swimming pool facing the hillside at the rear of the site.

To increase the visibility of the showrooms, the external wall together with the architectural fins and canopy were removed and replaced by clear glass wall.
To give a comfort and neutral ambience for the car display, white or grey colors or even transparent materials were adopted throughout the interior.
The construction phasing was a challenge in this project. Both the sales offices and the maintenace units required to be in operation throughout the whole renovation period. With the extensive structural alterations, careful planning to phase of works was the key to success.
This is an extensive renovation project which includes the refurbishment of showrooms (BMW and MINI) and their ancillary back-of-house services at the lowest four floors, the addition of disabled lift and facilities, the removal of existing canopy and architectural fins, the replacement of external solid wall to clear glass wall, the addition of new company logo and the refinishing of external wall of the whole building.

The white coloured metal cladded roof with its curvy profile, the green painted walls and the full-height glass walls were able to form a bright yet integrated appearance amongst the industrial surroundings. The building demonstrates the integration of practical function and elaborated external form.
With the great collaboration of the project team, the project was successfully completed in high quality standard and was able to fulfil user’s expectation in both design and practical aspects.
The 2-storey New Power Centre is located near the existing Workshop Block at TVB City.
The objective is to make use of the available Gross Floor Area and Site Coverage of the site and to create more space for props storage above the new plant rooms while maintaining a fresh appearance.

The studio is built with structural steel frames and enclosed with metal claddings in order to minimize the impact of the loading to the existing building. The high headroom studio and full-height glass walls enable both the dancers and photographers to fully utilize the space for all kinds of creative activities while enjoying the surrounding views. Its vivid orange colour allowed the studio to stand out from the adjacent industrial environment.
With the great collaboration of the project team, the project was successfully completed in high quality standard and was able to fulfil user’s expectation in both design and practical aspects.

under an extremely tight programme. Machine installation was inevitably overlapped with the building construction. Spatial arrangement was carefully considered to cater for the installation of high accuracy printing machines.
Smoke extraction system was adopted to accommodate the long printing machines in large fire compartment.To save the time and cost for this project, the existing piles were checked against and the structural design had been adjusted and made use of.
The project was successfully completed within 9-month from construction to operation which fulfill client’s expectation.
This is a three-storey high industrial building located at Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate. Based on client’s development strategy, the site was developed in two phases.
Phase 1 is the three-storey high printing factory for newspaper printing and ancillary office use and Phase 2, which would be developed later, is a ten-storey high office tower.

The objective of this renovation project is to revive the external façade of an existing old industrial building with curtain walls and attractive external wall signages and, at the same time, to design high-end car showrooms, training workshops, etc. for two world known motor brands, BMW and MINI.
The renovation works were carried out in phases in order to minimize impact to the operation of existing workshops and surrounding environment.

To meet our client’s requirement to complete the building for their occupancy, Foundation and Superstructure Works were completed within 17 months. We also facilitated our Client to apply Food Factory Licence successfully.
Pat Chun Food Factory Building is a 2-storey industrial building comprises of warehouses, workshops, cold stores, cooking rooms, general stores and office usage.
The new building meets the client’s business expansion throughout worldwide. Addition storey at main roof level is also reserved for Phase 2 development in the future.

Client To promote the image of a modernized manufacturing corporate, we designed a fresh aluminium roofing system which supported by the elegant steel posts. The full height tinted tempered glass and metal roof that overlook the low-rise Yuen Long Industrial Estate make this GMP Centre to be a high-tech icon in the district.
We are commissioned to convert a contractor’s workshop building to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) Centre at Yuen Long Industrial Estate.
The original three storey building was re-arranged. An additional floor was constructed. The new GMP Centre accommodates workshops for herb processing, packaging and dust-free pills making/ capsule filling; a canteen and an ancillary office.

To match with the existing Eu Yan Sang Centre which locates at the adjacent lot, we propose to use similar metallic glazed wall tiles as the external skin of the new extension. Unlike the conventional industrial buildings found in the Industrial Estate, the new building will be decorated with the puzzle-like pattern wall tiles and contrast with a simple, bold white box extruding from the building mass.
This new extension appears differently in the entire building complex. To light up the space, we proposed a green roof, and flower planters around the building. We aim to design a comfortable, stylish second home for the client’s staff.
Eu Yan Sang Phase II Extension is a new development of three storey concrete building block in Yuen Long Industrial Estate, next to the existing Eu Yan Sang Phase I GMP Centre.
In the new development, it provides more than 2,000 sq.m. space for the storage of Chinese Medicines and health products.

We emphasized on simple but elegant way of selecting the materials for construction, particular on concierges, lift lobby, front entrance, resting area, lavatories and many more. Eventually the image of whole new shopping arcade has been reborn. The flow of circulations has been increased remarkably.
Throughout the project, we have been in close liaison with the client for feasibility study, concept and detailed design, statutory submission, tender preparation and construction supervision.
Being assigned a commission from MTRC, a renovation work at the shopping centre of Royal Ascot at Fo Tan – Plaza Ascot was kindled.
We studied the possibility of re-arranging all shop front lines inside this shopping centre, taking into account all essential focal points and experience of each customers.

Two new escalators with high quality were added to maintain a direct and convenient connection between Shatin Station and Retail/F of Citylink Plaza.
The challenge of this project is to carry out a high quality renovation works above one of the busiest public transit premises, where all large scale construction works could only be carried out during night time which made site supervision and programme monitoring difficult. In order to minimize the impact to Station and tenants’ operation, the renovation works were carried out in phases.
Citylink Plaza is a multi-storeyed commercial building sat on the Shatin Station facilities. The development strategy of the proposed renovation works, besides to enrich the shopping experience, was to attract and direct more customers from Shatin Station to Retail/F of Citylink Plaza, where a variety of retail shops and restaurants are located.

Other statutory requirements such as Environmental Impact Assessment to Environment Protection Department (EPD) and exemption of height restriction from Civil Aviation Department (CAD) to demonstrate that the antenna tower design not affecting any transmission of signal between plane and airport were also required.
Without any direct and proper access, material transportation for construction is another critical issue. Only helicopter can be used for material transportation and the weight is very limited. Therefore, our design need to be modular in size for ease of transportation as well as construction.
To achieve the coverage of Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting (DTTB), 6 locations were chosen for new antenna towers to be constructed.
Located at hill-top of Golden Hill, this transposer antenna tower consists of 2 storeys high R.C. structure and a 41.2m high antenna tower on rooftop.
As the development is located on hill-top of country park, planning permission from Town Planning Board was required.

aligned and dressed up with metal louvres in matching color with external wall tiles.
During construction, to avoid water penetration to the exposed external wall surface in rain season, specially designed rain shelters and protections were adopted. Besides, to ensure the weather-resisting performance of the repaired and treated external wall, a thorough testing procedure was derived.
To ensure the material quality are to the client’s satisfaction, client’s representatives are also invited to participate the joint site visits to the stone and tile manufacturing factories at mainland China to ensure the products’ quality and performance.
The development consists of 3 residential towers (each 21-storey high), a carpark (2 levels) and an outdoor swimming pool. Before renovation, over 90% of residents reported water seepages during rainy days. Water seepage was a serious problem to this development. Hence, a comprehensive external wall repair with sound waterproofing and finishing system was adopted.

The driveway linking the Garden Road and Magazine Gap Road is the only access point to the development. It is estimated there are over 1,200 vehicular traffic flow per day. To cope with this heavy traffic flow, a rapid-setting coating system together with a carefully thought phasing plan were engineered. The driveway was needed to be closed for only 2 days to carry out the resurfacing works.
To ensure quality service, we listen to the needs of the Client, care about the living of the residents, and we respect the operational needs of the Management Office. These are all contributing to the success of this renovation project.
The development comprises 3 residential towers of 44-storey high, a 4-storey carpark, a clubhouse and an outdoor swimming pool. To minimize nuisance to the residents while enjoying fresh air and views during the renovation period, a special traveling-type matrix scaffold is adopted in this project. This scaffold allows the renovation works to be carried out in phases at a span of 6-storey at the external wall. This specially designed scaffold was the first time ever being employed in the renovation project in Hong Kong.

The tower external wall renovation works were carried out in phases: first the rear and sides, second the front. Under such arrangement, windows and air-conditioning units at the non-working sides could be operated as usual and the residents can enjoy the fresh air. Workmanship can be better controlled as the front elevation was refurbished in the last phase.
Another major repair work in this project is to remove the corroded and leaking drain pipes concealed in the pipe ducts inside the bathroom of each units. Without diverting these communal drain pipes to the external wall, the hygiene and health of the residents will be impaired.
This is a luxurious residential development located at 43 Repulse Bay Road. The development comprises a single residential tower of 21-storey high and 2 carparking levels. The design of the tower and main lobbies are influenced by modern touch of luxury. A simple but elegant granite stone in combination of different textures is applied to the wall, floor, internal and external surfaces.

This is a luxurious residential development located at 36 MacDonnell Road. The renovation works mainly focus on the four levels of podium carpark. The renovated areas include the entrance hall, lift halls, carparking areas, internal feature wall and podium external wall.

The challenge was to create a trendy, spacious atmosphere within a confined space. This showroom was not merely for the display for cars, but for the display of MINI Lifestyle. With clever space planning, the 100 square meter shop successfully accommodated a coffee area, a pantry, a dressing room and reception area apart from the car and accessories display.
As an outcome, the showroom became an eye-catching advertisement for MINI in the shopping hub of Hong Kong with the use of contrasting colour, playful geometry and unique lighting effects.
In 2010, our company took part in the design, contract administration and construction works for the Mini Showroom at Hysan Avenue, Causeway Bay.
The design for the showroom strictly followed the standards of MINI’s Corporate Image, and our company had to work closely with the BMW’s representatives during design stage.

In order to “open up” the shop front, we introduced a fire compartment glass wall to replace the original solid compartment wall at Level 8. This involved submission of plans to Building Authority for approval.
The theme was “The Hidden Treasure of Nature”, with “Diamond Lobby”, “Seashell Lobby”, “Feather Corridor”, “Beehives Lavatories” and “Sky Corridor” etc. Since it is one of the most popular cinemas in Hong Kong, the material used was trendy yet durable, such as glass, alabaster and synthetic fabric wall to minimise wear and tear.
The renovation works took place in 2010 at Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong. The scope includes renovation works for all the internal public area and lavatories of the Cinema at four different levels of the shopping mall. The project had successfully freshened up the cinema space, particularly at the main entrances at Levels 1 and 8.

The works include interior and building services fitting out, exterior cladding, floor tile and signage installation. Minor Works submission to Building Authority was also required for the exterior signages.
To create a calm and holistic atmosphere, the walls and floors were covered with Limestone. Thus the challenge was to make sure the natural material was carefully treated to withstand wear and tear by constant mobility of display cars.
The aluminium louvers with indirect lighting effect further enhanced and harmonised the quality of the space.
In 2011, we took on the consultancy project for Roll Royce Motor Cars showroom in Wan Chai. This was the biggest showroom for the brand ever since 2003, showcasing 4 luxurious cars with fine limestone as backdrop.
The design for the showroom strictly followed the standards of Rolls Royce’s Corporate Image, and our company had to work closely with the Goodwood’s representatives during design and construction stage.

The success in space planning and use of contemporary building material resulted in a chic showroom, which not only promote the brand, but also brought in new, exciting sight to the Wan Chai district.
This was the first McLaren showroom in Asia Pacific region. It covered approximately 200 sq.m. at the ground floor shop of Wu Chung House. The works include interior and building services fitting out, exterior cladding, floor tile and signage installation.

part of the wall and existing portal structure will be covered by timber and the overall interior will be improved and renovated in a holistic way.
Another Option is inspired by the idea of minimalism. It introduces a new ‘Hat’ made of gypsum board to cover up all the conduits, trunkings and other building services, to give a sleek touch to the interior. The design also retains and emphasizes the natural lighting of the existing church hall by using new decorative metal grilles at high level windows.
Two design Proposals were introduced.
One proposal manipulates the existing structure of the hall to create a solemn space. In order to minimize the alteration yet enhancing the acoustic performance, we propose to apply new finishing for the stage and keep the existing floor finishes of the hall. The Dream of the Red Chamber we created dwelt in our own heritage. We took elements from our culture either direct and literal or, abstract and figurative to different extent - transforming them, expanding them or condensing them to generate interesting spaces or motifs. The aim is to make it a classy place of refined taste, distinctively different from the general pop cultures. It is there to intensify the gaze, provoke thoughts and conversations, whereby all is inspired to create their own memorable episodes here in this UA Red Chamber. This is the reason why they choose to come back again and again – to be seen and, to pick up the dreams of their life.
We entered the competition for the conceptual design of UA Cinema at iSquare, TST, HK. There are 3 tradtional houses, one VIP house and one featured IMAX theatre.
Architecture is a live performance with its users. Cineplex is a place of conscious interactions, an active centre stage contrary to the ordinary passive cinema place. The most unique thing about the spacial arrranegement is that the concierge is located in a main circulation corridor of the shopping mall, and the cinema houses are accessible directly from the shopping mall. Thus, making the cinema houses dispersed from one another.
In order to create a more united space, we introduced the theme of “Tapestry of Molten Ice”, represented by different forms of solid, liquid and gas that immerse into various zones of the Cinema. This idea not only ties up all the individual spaces, it also creates contrasting spatial experience along the way to a particular zone.
We entered the competition for the conceptual design of UA Cinema at Mall of the World, Zhujiang, Guangzhou, PRC in 2011.
The project features one IMAX and two VIP theatres, together with ten traditional auditoriums, with approximately 1,600 seats.

Inspired by the idea that the cinema operates almost 24 hours a day. The interior is filled with elements of “Day and Night” to create a chic and bold atmosphere. The “Day” zones are mainly for the entrance, snack bar and corridor spaces; while the “Night” theme occupies the cinema houses. In order to achieve this contemporary sensation, the design emphasises a lot on simple geometry and soft lighting effects.
We entered the competition for the conceptual design of UA Cinema at KK Mall, Shenzhen, PRC in 2010.
The project aimed to bring in the first IMAX theatre in Shenzhen, together with seven traditional houses and a VIP house. The cinema was located at the tip of the huge podium shopping mall.

To cater this huge development, existing infrastructure is connected to the commercial area. The LRT network tying the north of the site to Guangzhou, public transportation like buses and expressway are connected. A new network of treks and cycling routes are also introduced to the scheme.
To preserve the existing landscape and environment, vast area is reserved as Parkland. Eco-friendly proposals including water, energy and waste management are suggested. The scheme creates a new model of theme park plus commercial development in China.
Aspiring to create an animation theme park in a master scale, an extensive research was carried out to the area of Panyu.
The site would be divided into six zones: Theme Park; Residential; Valley; Health Care; Hospitality; Commercial. The Theme Park zone will act as the heart of the entire development, connecting all other five zones.
