The DFM index (+0.8%) outperformed its regional peers to close at the highest level since early May, driven by rally in real estate stocks. Emaar Properties gained +1.5%, Deyaar Development added +0.8% while Union Properties rallied +1.3%. The ADX index (+0.3%) closed in positive territory helped by First Gulf Bank (+1.1%) which rallied for the sixth consecutive session to take its mtd gains to +10.7%. The EGX 30 index (+1.5%) gained after the military avoided a strong reaction to the President's decision to wrest key constitutional and legislative powers, suggesting it has acquiesced. It was a broad based rally with all but one stock on the index closing in positive territory, as investors looked to take positions even with the impending Eid holidays. Elsewhere, the Tadawul (-0.4%) tested the 7,000 level before declining in the final hour of trading. Savola gained +1.0% to close at the highest level since May 2008 while Sabic declined -0.5%. MENA Equities

The Tadawul (-0.4%) and the Bahrain Bourse (-0.3%) declined on what was largely a positive day of trading for the GCC equity markets.

The DFM index (+0.8%) outperformed its regional peers to close at the highest level since early May, driven by rally in real estate stocks. Emaar Properties gained +1.5%, Deyaar Development added +0.8% while Union Properties rallied +1.3%. The ADX index (+0.3%) closed in positive territory helped by First Gulf Bank (+1.1%) which rallied for the sixth consecutive session to take its mtd gains to +10.7%.

The EGX 30 index (+1.5%) gained after the military avoided a strong reaction to the President's decision to wrest key constitutional and legislative powers, suggesting it has acquiesced. Global Equities

US equities declined marginally for the first time in seven days on concerns of slowing growth. Google rallied +2.8% after the company said it will cut about 4,000 jobs and shut down a third of the facilities at its Motorola Mobility Holdings unit. First Solar dropped -4.4% after the company reported a loss and said that the company won’t be profitable this year.

European equities declined as concerns over slowing economic growth weighed on markets. Julius Baer Group declined -7.4% after the company agreed to buy Bank of America's Merrill Lynch wealth management business outside the US for USD 880mn. Petrofac dropped -5.2% after the company said that profit growth will slow. Italian banks rallied after the country's bond auction went well with Unicredit and Intesa gaining +1.0% and +0.8% respectively.

Asian equities are trading higher this morning after the minutes from Bank of Japan showed policymakers are considering steps to boost the economy. The MSCI Asia Pacific index was trading +0.1% at the time of writing.

Gulf Finance House posted a profit of USD 4.7mn compared to a loss of USD 11.2mn a year earlier as expenses declined

to USD 15mn from USD 17.6mn. (Bloomberg)

Real Estate

Emaar Properties said 2Q 2012 revenue from apartment sales more than doubled to AED 699.3mn while revenues from

villa sales dropped -3.0% y/y to AED 325.7mn. The company also said that the money owed by Amlak Finance was lowered

to AED 524mn at the end of June from AED 595mn at the end of 2011. (Bloomberg)

Qatar Railways Co signed five contracts worth QAR 1.48bn for construction work on the country’s rail and metro system.

Dana Gas reported 2Q 2012 net profit of AED 181mn (-8.7% q/q, +46% y/y) on revenues of AED 554mn. Oil and natural

gas production fell to 60,950 barrels of oil equivalent a day from 65,600 a year earlier. (Bloomberg)

Saudi Electricity Co signed contracts worth SAR 700mn to build substations in Jeddah and link many areas with cables in

Riyadh. (Bloomberg)

Industrials

Emirates Aluminium is seeking to raise USD 4bn to finance expansion. The company aims to raise USD 500mn in loans

from four-export-credit agencies, USD 2bn to USD 2.5bn from commercial bank loans and the remainder by issuing bonds.

Renaissance Services said 2Q 2012 profit almost tripled y/y to OMR 3.87mn from OMR 1.32mn a year earlier, beating
