Ancient Mesopotamia

Mesopotamia had a government ruled by one person. This type of government is called a Monarchy.

Since Mesopotamia had a Monarchy, they had kings that ruled them.

The people sometimes told the kings what they wanted and the kings would listen if they were wise.

Ancient Mesopotamia

Priests had the most power. Then kings, officials, and soldiers. After them were merchants, traders and craftsman. Next were farmers. Finally, the lowest status were slaves.

Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt had a king which was named the Pharaoh.

They had slaves that were used for building pyramids and many other things.

Egypt is a republic with a semi-presidential government.

The Vizier was the primary leader of the government under the Pharaoh.

Under the Vizier was a Nomark who was a local governor.

Egypt also had a monarchy because the Pharaoh ruled everything.

Modern CanadaCanada is a democracy so the citizens get to vote who they want to lead their country.

Canada is also kind of a monarchy because they are ruled by a queen.

Canada has a queen that rules the country, they also have a government and prime minister who run some matters of the country.

Canada has some slavery but it is not allowed so there is very little.

Canada has a lot of different kinds of politics.

Ancient Greece

Ancient Greece had three main different governments. They were: a monarchy, where that city was ruled by a king. An oligarchy, where the city was ruled by a small group of people. Finally, a democracy, where the citizens ruled and made some decisions.

Ancient Greeks had a lot of slaves who served citizens as well as important people.

Ancient Greek sometimes had tyranny when someone killed the leader and then became the leader.

Ancient Greece also had public officials.
