WE WAITEDand on 28 January

2011, the Glob@l Libraries Program, through the

equipment it provided,

transformed the library in Ihtiman into a modern center for

access to information and communication

for all.

We, the pensioners, were the first to make use of the new services provided by the modern library

Free of charge one-on-one

computer and internet skills

training: to date, 3 training

courses were conducted and 69 pensioners were trained

We organized a series of information

meetings at the pensioner’s clubs

to present the program and the

training opportunities for

pensioners it offers.

As a sign of our appreciationWe, the

pensioners, decided to look for unpublished

poems by citizens of

Ihtiman and submit them to

the library.

This is how the joint initiative “LITERARY WORKS BY CITIZENS OF IHTIMAN” was born

We searched, collected and

submitted them to the library.

We took part in the presentation of

authors and their works to the public

within the traditional “May

Days of Art” festival.

We applied for Tulip Foundation funding with the “Active throughout

Our Lives” projectAs recommended by

them, currently we are implementing project activities without their financial support but with the active participation of all project partners.

We presented to the public the unpublished poems of Maria Stoyanova Stoykova

Pensioners, assisted by the trained librarians, delivered the presentation “CV in Pictures”; we organized a literary reading; we are about to organize a fundraising campaign to publish these poems.

The municipal administration is providing an office car

so that the presentation team could visit the program supported village libraries within the municipality where people will be able to meet the author and her poems.

The library prepares 200 invitations

The pensioners deliver the invitations in person to citizens

The pensioners take part in the organization of the meetings.

the multimedia equipment provided by the Glob@l Libraries Program is lent to Zdravets or Eledzhik Pensioner’s Clubs on Midwives’ Day, Vine Growers Day, Midsummer Day; for the 10th anniversary of the club; meetings with authors, information meetings

The Municipality supports our joint activities with the library because
