Moving in a circle reflects cosmological movements and the vivid rhythms of nature that mostly have a cyclical form. Many dances portray our natural environment and embody an element such as fire, water, air or earth. The physical body, creating movement and shape, is very much part of the element earth. Incorporating the quality of air allows the body to move beyond physical limitations, whereas the element of water allows the circle of dancers to mould together on an energetic level, creating a more emotional bond between them.
