Eruption's

• Eruptions from volcanoes can be very dangerous because: of exploding rocks that land in towns.

• Huge ash clouds land on the ground with in a one km radius of the mountain some times further killing people and animals.

• These ash clouds stop all planes flying and shut down

airports.

Why Do Volcanoes Erupt?

• As magma rises, gases expand the water becomes steam. This creates huge pressure when the pressure becomes too grate, a volcano erupts. Eruptions can range from gentle oozing, to violent explosions.

DID YOU KNOW?The mount Vesuvius eruption of 79 AD

was a Plinian eruption. It buried Pompeii and killed more than 2000 people. Pompewii remaned buried for over 1500 years.
