Darkness and Light An Unordinary follower of Jesus doesn’t just follow Him in front of other people. An Unordinary follower follows him when they are alone where no one is around to see or hear. Whether we like it or not, most of us live almost completely different lives around the different sets of people that we are with. We have our church face, our school face, or our team face. They might not look too different, but around each group you might do one thing differently. In some cases, that one thing could be destructive. 1 John 1:6-7(NLT) says this, 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. Jesus was the same with any group that he was with. He will always be the same until the end of time, which feels closer than ever with all this madness going on right now like floods and sickness. Why can the light be so scary? It’s revealing. Everyone can see who you really are. That can be scary sometimes, but when we step into the light, we can get to know each other on a real level. Have you ever had a relationship like that? It’s pretty special. Reread 1 John 1:6-7 What stands out to you in this passage? How can you apply this to your life right now? Pray and ask for God’s help in this journey.

Darkness and Light

An Unordinary follower of Jesus doesn’t just follow Him in front of other people. 1 John 1:6-7(NLT) says this,

6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.
