FINANCE ALUMNI EMU FUN FACTSRESEARCH

EMU alumni group launched GameAbove by announcing an initial $3.5 million gift to support faculty and students under two initiatives “GameAbove, Faculty First” and “Students Matter Most” and by April had donated more than $13 milion.

Eastern Michigan University master’s program in occupational therapy ranked among top two in Michigan and among best in the country by U.S. News and World Report.

New Master of Public Health program at Eastern Michigan University will train professionals in areas related to current global health crisis.

Eastern Michigan University online graduate education programs move up 12 spots in annual U.S. News and World Report rankings-among top five in Michigan.

Eastern Michigan University College of Business rated among nation’s best for 16th

consecutive year. Students cite quality of faculty, flexible scheduling and dynamic classroom experience in Princeton Review survey used to compile rankings.

EMU wins national championship in moot court competition, sweeping all five first place votes. Almost 500 universities and colleges participated in the competition. The students brought the first national championship in moot court to the state of Michigan and EMU.

New Bloomberg terminals in Investment Learning Center offer real-world experiences to students ad others in EMU’s College of Business. These terminals allow students to obtain hands-on experience in being able to monitor and manage real-time financial dat and earn their Bloomberg Market Concepts certification.

Eastern Michigan University professor collaborates on project to make sacred places along the Texas Gulf Coast region more hurricane-proof.

Detroit middle school girls put STEM skills to the test during Girls in Engineering Academy at Eastern Michigan University.

Eastern Michigan University chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, a national accounting honors organization, honored as ‘superior’ for 21st consecutive year. The EMU chapter performs hundreds of hours of community service each semester, including work on behalf of other organizations such as Meals on Wheels, the Walk to Fight Cancer, Habitat for Humanity and Food Gatherers. In addition, the chapter again filled out the tax returns for low-income people in the Ypsilanti community, an annual activity for the club.
