Industry/ commercial in house
4Priorities
•Degrees of downtime•Center tiers
Business Continuity
•Power Use Effectiveness•Total consumption
Energy Efficiency

6Equipment Data
Servers
• Electric Data through Power Distribution Unit (PDU)
• Climatic data through sensor at rack/server intake (and exhaust)
HVAC / Climate Control
• Electric data metering
• Temperature, humidity and possibly pressure
7Power equipment

Identifying Value of
Ecolibrium
11
Proposition
12Main Points
• Active PUE Monitoring and Optimization
• Asset Health Monitoring
• Reducing Redundancy through Asset Optimization
• Power Source Optimization
• Predictive Maintenance
• Modularity Integration and Scalability
13Operational Efficiency
•
• Climate Monitoring and Asset Optimization
• Thermal zone mapping (and fluid flow analysis) for optimal equipment placement
• Minimizing losses
• Server performance monitoring
14Asset Health and Predictive Maintenance
• HVAC health through motor, chiller and other asset analysis
• Battery health
• Transformer health
• UPS Health
• Active monitoring provides insight for when tests are needed
15Redundancy
Reducing CapEx by optimizing assets
and assuring reliability
- Lower value of assets and
predictive because of redundancy- Certification
requiring redundancy
16Power Sourcing and Billing Insights
• Power source optimization including DERs
• Contract demand optimization
• Energy Trading from Open Access Feasibility and Bid optimization
• TOD optimization
• Incoming Voltage check
• Power factor optimization
17Modularity Integration and Scalability
• Modular integration allows scalability of Ecolibrium in given data center
• Challenge is: They are very advanced and one product so difficult to integrates
18Data Center Infrastructure Management
• Several discussed features exist
• Analytics is doubtful
• Use, especially in India is sparse (instead use SCADA/ BMS)
• IT Data centers vs facility supporting data centers
19Data Center Certification
TIA 942

21Infibeam Meeting
• Meeting with a very experienced person in the industry, in charge of designing Infibeam’s next data center at GIFT city
His opinion:
• What we are proposing already exists (including analytics) and done by big companies
• Can’t reduce redundancy because it is needed for certification
• Look at data centers of people who’s core business isn’t data centers (industry, hospital, etc.)
• Modular data centers have company integrted monitoring
• Infibeam (first in India) getting Lithium Ion batteries instead of VRLA
22GIFT city visit
• Supposedly very advanced for India, “only Tier 4 data center in India”
• Manual readings (LT, HT, etc.) – Schneider equipment with integrated panels
• Redundancy in everything – needed for certification
• BMS used for monitoring – extremely limited
