Key Challenges & Drivers Impacting the Data Centre Industry
• Reliability/Uptime
• SLA’s
• Contamination
• Energy Costs
• Carbon Emissions
• Modularity
Uptime & Reliability
• Tier 1: Non-redundant capacity components (single uplink and servers).
• Tier 2: Tier 1 + Redundant capacity components.
• Tier 3: Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Dual-powered equipment and multiple uplinks. • Tier 4: Tier 1 + Tier 2 + Tier 3 + all components are fully fault-tolerant including
uplinks, storage, chillers, HVAC systems, servers etc.
Everything is dual-powered.
The levels also describes the guaranteed availability of data from the hardware at a location:
• Tier 1: 99.671% availability.
• Tier 2: 99.741% availability.
• Tier 3: 99.982% availability. • Tier 4: 99.995% availability. RELIABILITY is THE Critical Success Factor

Infrastructure
• Power Supplies
• Data Centre size is often restricted by availability of power to site.
• By reducing cooling power consumption, more power becomes
available for critical processes and server operations.

Legionella Risk Analysis
• The Risk Assessment of the OASIS unit
confirms that the risks of causing growth and
spread of Legionella bacteria are negligible.
• If the temperature is below 25°C, no risk of
occurrence of Legionella in the system,
which is the case most of the time.
• In the operating conditions for water above
25°C, the system is designed so that water
flows continuously in the circuit so that there
is no stagnation of water and no risk of
emergence of bacteria.
• The Oasis IEC has an automatic emptying
system that starts if installation is at standstill
for agreed hours. Therefore no risk of
proliferation of legionella in the water
recovery pan.
