Introduction

The “Data Logger Soft FDL-02” (=FDL-02) is data logger for any KETT measuring instruments. The FDL-02 pastes a measurement data by the KETT measuring instrument on ©Microsoft Excel by the automatic operation, with the personal computer (=PC) that operates ©Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / 7.

＊Please see each operating manual, about the PC operation, the operating system operation (=“OS”, Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / 7), and or the other software operation (©Microsoft Excel).

＊In this operating manual, there are the operations and the illustrations of Windows XP. Please operate the OS according to an individual manual excluding the special note, on Windows Vista and 7.

System Requirements

L OS : Windows XP (32bit ) / Vista (32bit / 64bit) / 7 (32bit / 64bit)

L PC : Manufacturer supported PC running the above OS (Microsoft

recommended environment), with at least 1 spare RS-232C port or USB

port (Ver.1.1 or later) and CD-ROM drives.

L Essential Software : Excel 2003 / 2007 / 2010

Microsoft Corporation recommended operating system requirements.

＊ For Windows XP, ".Net Framework 2.0" or later needs to be installed.＊ If the volume of measurement result data to be handled is large,we

recommend increasing your PC memory.＊ The combination of the OS and the essential software will depend on the

OS supporting that software.

1. Install

Notes ＊ If you use the optional USB-RS232C converter, please do not connect the USB-RS232C converter with PC until the driver's installation is completed.

＊ Please operate the installation software with log on manager’s group account. (Recommend; account of administrator's group)

＊ If the dialog “User account control (Vista)” or “Install program as other user (XP)” is displayed while install operation, the installation cannot be completed even if the information is input. First of all, log off from PC, and try to reinstall after log on by the manager’s account.

1. Startup Windows.

2. Insert the FDL-02 CD-ROM.

＊It is necessary to end all other applications.

3. Double cl ick [CD dr ive] in “My

Computer”.

4. Double click [FDLe_Setup].

5. Click [Next] on “FDL-02” dialog.

6. Click [Next].

＊When you will install to dif ferent folder, you can change to different folder.

7. Click [Next].

8. Install is started.

9. Click [Close].

Restart is requested after installation.

It is recommended to restart the PC

now for successful start.

Setup is now complete.

The insta l lat ion ended. Please

confirm the short cut ( ) of FDL-

02 on desktop.

L USB-RS232C converter (Option) Install

Install the “USB-RS232C converter driver” using the following method.

＊When the computer has RS-232C port of connecting directly, it is not necessary to install it.

1. Double cl ick [CD dr ive] in “My

Computer”.

2. Double click [SETUP] in “UCT_driver”

folder.

3. Click [Next].

5. Click [Finish].

＊Please restart your PC before using.

PC are connected by us ing the connecting cable, beforehand . (Please see the at tached paper “ C o n n e c t i n g t h e m e a s u r i n g instrument to your computer”.)

＊Please set beforehand when the PC connection setup is necessary in the connected measuring instrument. (Please see the earch operating manual of measuring instrument.)

program group.

L Setting FDL-02

1. Click [Set].

[When a file is newly created]1. Check the place where the file is

saved. To change the storage place,

press the ▼ button of “File name”,

and specify the place where the file

is saved.

2. Enter the name of the f i le to be

saved, and click [Open].

“201406161130” is used as a f i le

name in this case.

＊The default of the file name is a date and time sequence.

3. Receive the measured data, and a

new worksheet will be created.

L Data Transmission and saving＊ To receive data with use of this software, be sure to set the menu to PC. Refer to the operating instructions for each model (FD-660 P. 30, FD-720

P. 38, and FD-800 P. 38).

1. Click [Open].

2. If “EXCEL file open Or new creation”

dialog is displayed, select an existing

file or input the new filename, and

click [Open].

＊Please, separate excel file on each measuring instrument.

[When an existing file is opened] Select the “file location” and “file

name”, and click [Open]. The file is

saved by the name of “20131018.xls”

in this case.＊ When an existing file is selected, new data

will be written following the last data.＊ If the existing file is blank, the error

dialog may be displayed. In such a case, create a new file.

3. After the measured data is transmitted to

the PC, the text data will be automatically

written on the opened worksheet.＊ The measured data is graphed in real

time.＊When the reception is canceled, click

[Stop].

＊ To resume reception, click [START] ( ).

4. To save the worksheet, overwrite it

with use of the menu of Excel.＊To repeat measurement, repeat the

steps “3” and “4”.

[When the sheet to be written is changed] Select a sheet to be written, and

click [Change sheet]. Click [OK] after

"Do you want to set the writing target

to the current sheet?" is displayed,

and the change will be made.

Click [Exit].

3. Uninstall (Remove)

＊Please operate the uninstallation software with log on manager’s group account. (Recommend; account of administrator’s group)

＊ If “uninstall” cannot be selected, or the dialog “User account control (Vista/7)” or “Install program as other user (XP)” is displayed while uninstall operation, the uninstallation cannot be completed even if the information is input. First of all, log off from PC, and try to log on by the manager’s account.

1. Select [Control Panel] in start menu.

2. Double click [System].

＊ If you operate Windows Vista/7, please select [Programs and Features].

■Uninstall FDL-02＊We will recommend the backup of the measurement data etc. to be

reserved before this operation.

3. Select [FDL-02], and click [Remove]

or [Change/Remove].

＊ If you operate Windows Vista, please select [FDL], and click [Uninstall/Change]. If “User account control” is displayed, select [Continue].

4. Click [Yes].

Uninstalling will start.

■Uninstall USB-RS232C Converter cable driver

1. Please operate same operation from

P.16 (1) to (2).

2. Select [U232 P9/P25 V7.2.98] and

Click [Remove].

＊ If you operate Windows Vista, please select [U232 P9/P25 V7.2.98], and click [Uninstall]. If “User account control” is displayed, select [Continue].

3. Click [OK].

Uninstalling will start.

4. Click [Finish].

■How to check whether .Net Framework is installed (only for Windows XP)

＊ No check is necessary for Windows Vista and 7.

1. Select [Control Panel] in start menu.

2. Double click [System].

3. If ".Net Framework 2.0" or later is

found, it is OK.

＊ If ".Net Framework 2.0" or later is not installed, double-click "dotnetfx3" on the CD-ROM to install it.

■How to search serial port (RS-232C) number; (COM number)

1. Select [Control Panel] in start menu.

2. Double click [System].

＊ Please make the control panel not the category view but a classic view on Windows XP and Windows Vista.

3. Click [Device Manager].

4. In a right example, the direct connect

RS-232C port is one, because it

is displayed [Communication Port

(COM1)].

And, the RS-232C por t of USB-

RS232C converter is four, because

it is displayed [Serial On USB Port

(COM4)].

＊T h e n a m e o f t h e U S B - R S232C conversion cable (option) is “Serial On USB Port”. When ( ) is here, the insta l lat ion is not cor rect ly completed or the configuration file is broken. Try to see “P.9”, and to install it again.

L Troubleshooting

Trouble Check Point

Appears when an already opened file is

attempted to open.

Appears when the Excel file is closed at data

reception.

Appears when data is received during writing

on the Excel sheet.

＊ Be aware that clicking [OK] before an operation is completed causes data not to be written.

Indicates other errors. Check the cable

connect i ons and the se t t i ngs o f t he

measuring instrument. If no improvement is

observed, restart the software or measuring

instrument. If the error number is displayed,

take a note of the number.

The port is not recognized.

Click [OK] to exit from the software, and

restart the software after checking the cable

connections.

Indicates software error. Restart the software.

If the error occurs repeatedly, contact us

after having the knowledge of what kind of

operation causes this error.
