Online charts from public data

• Public data exist in many formats
• Most of them are difficult to interpret
• Analyze is time consuming

• We believe that a clear visualization of data
helps its interpretation
• Charts easily highlight characteristics
Datacharts (DC)
• DC is a platform to generate charts online
• No technical knowledge is required
• Data from data.gov.be is preprocessed for
usage and made available on the platform
(for free, it is public data !)
• Charts are easily integrated in social media
The website (platform)
The platform allows the user to dynamically:
• Select a dataset
• Select a visualisation (type of chart)
• Select a view of the data (subset of data)
• Publish/comment results in social media
