Analytics - Transforming Clinical Development

From Data to Insight – Enabling the Transforming World of Life Science

Clinical analytics and insight can be leveraged to address a wide range of operational questions in variety of settings. It is often utilized for purposes that are beyond the original intent of these data points. The goal of this presentation is to review the capability of several analytical approaches and to demonstrate how these insight can be incorporated into all phases of a clinical development program. This presentation will also share advances from previous analytical solutions and how leveraging current technologies optimizes the execution of clinical trial reporting and analytics.

Personalized and precision-based medicine have become a necessity that will be achieved only by altering the current paradigm of clinical trial design typically focusing on specific mutations or drug targets. The status quo approach limits the utilization of the observed data and ignores factors associated with the response variability. Berg has developed a new approach where patient longitudinal multiomic profiles collected during phase I trials are subjected to the Berg AI analytical platform, BAICIS, delivering novel and testable hypotheses on potential safety and efficacy biomarkers, and the drug MOA in real time. As a validation, the award winning approach was applied to the Berg phase I clinical trial in solid tumors, successfully identifying molecular and clinical fingerprints of drug response that might be used in patient stratification for subsequent phase II, and validated as a CDx in phase III trials.

Outcomes based care is moving to center stage. Patients are becoming more engaged. Individuals are starting to control their own health treatments. Patients are becoming more than just passive recipients of therapies and are much less loyal to brands and companies. Pharma companies tend to lose exclusive control over their value stories. New competitors are moving in. Process efficiency and agility is improving dramatically. More information is available about product performance with patient generated data. In this turbulent times, how Life science companies can utilize Big Data and Analytics to stay relevant and advance healthcare.
