Are all vehicles where they should be at the right time? The Area Monitoring application offers a simple and effective option for vehicle monitoring. Fleet operators are informed when their vehicles leave or enter certain areas, such as the carrier’s grounds or construction sites, via the Web portal. The information can be sent as an alert via email or SMS. The vehicle-specificmonitoring areas can be defined as circles, squares, or polygons.

The Data Logger application can record all CAN signals available on the onboard unit. The data is transferred continuously or in a single batch upon completion. In the OPENMATICS Portal I, the data is evaluated, interpreteted and displayed. The user candetermine the recording mode, vehicle starting and stopping behavior, signal selection, and sampling rate.

In commercial vehicles, the digital tachograph gathers information on the driver's resting and driving times. Employers are required by law to store this data regularly. The DigiTacho Download app takes this job off your hands. It automatically downloads the data from the mass storage and the driver card according to the legally required cycles. The app visualizes the data in the OPENMATICS Portal and prepares it for archiving in the appropriate file format.

The application reads the DM1 vehicle CAN messages, which come once every second and on a state change, regardless of the presence or absence of any DTCs (Diagnostics Trouble Codes). All DTCs are displayed on the OPENMATICS Portal I and indicated as active (still ongoing) or passive (appeared in past) faults. There are two display modes: Diagnostics Expert View displaying selected technical information only and Fleet Manager View for easy and comprehensive analysis of the problem cause.

The Driver Feedback Device gives the drivers immediate feedback on unacceptable driving behavior. This includes speeding,over revving of the engine, long stops with the engine left running, aggressive acceleration, and harsh braking. This gives driversthe opportunity to check and improve their driving style continuously. All details of the driving behavior can be analyzedin the Driver Feedback application on the OPENMATICS Portal I.

The application Driving Times compares the time a driver has available for driving with the time allowed by law.The user can choose the time scale (day, week, forthnight). The app shows how many kilometers a driver has at his or her disposal while making all legal stops allowing for fast and easy route planning.

Predictive diagnostics is a generic diagnostic app that is suitable to handle simple requests, such as, “If the oil temperatureis greater than ... for at least one minute notify the driver and the fleet manager”.
