IDEA GENERATION. Let’s start with getting some ideas going. Has she picked up any new hobbies recently? Is she talking about activ- ities she would love to do, but doesn’t find the time or energy for? Is she mentioned a place she would love to visit or try out? Pay attention and write them down. Have a dedicated space where you put these ideas. It’s hard to be original on the spot, so this little list will be your inspi- ration when you plan a date night. ASK HER OUT. That’s right. Ask her out! Don’t just send a calendar invite or email to ‘coordinate schedules’. Invite her for a special evening out and she’ll make sure she’s available. Be ro- mantic about it! PLAN THE EVENING. Choose one of the ideas you came up with in step one and make it happen. Book it, check availability, whatever you need to do, arrange it. I know, this seems an obvious step, but you don’t want to show up at your date night destination and hear they don’t have availability. If you have children, make sure to arrange childcare or tell your nanny that you’ll take your wife out for a date and if she should take care of the children. CREATE EXCITEMENT. Create some teasers, hint towards your evening out and give a dress code. This can be with some txt messages or a hand-written card. Build up the anticipation so you’re both really looking forward to this special evening together. ENJOY. On the day of your night out, make sure you’re ready to go early. Dress to impress, bring a little present if you want, and most importantly, don’t stress her to hurry!
