PROPERTY NAME; Minefinders (Phase Two)
LOCATION AND ACCESS;
The Minefinders property is located in south central Pifher Township, Thunder Bay Mining Division, approximately 22 km northeast of Beardmore. The property is accessible from Highway 801, 23 km east of Beardmore, via the Sturgeon River Road (72 Road) at a point roughly 15 km north of Highway 11. The southeastern portion of the claim group can be reached by travelling 7.5 km west on the 72 Road to Crooked Green Creek and north along the creek roughly 2 km. A trail leads northwest to the ''Main Trench Occurrence'' roughly 450 meters away.
SPECIFIC GEOLOGY AMD MINERALOGY;
Geology of the ''Main Trench Occurrence'' was detailed in the ''Final Submission'' of ''Phase One 1 '. The area underlying the northeast extension of the ''Main Trench Occurrence' 1 , consists of intermediate to felsic metavolcanics, including a series of tuffs and agglomerate. Mineralization consisted of minor pyrite, but for the most part was barren of sulphides.
The area underlying the ''Pond Occurrence'' consists of a discontinuous ''stockwork'' system of blue-grey quartz veins from 5 to 30cm wide hosted in silicified very fine grained aphanitic to almost cherty intermediate to felsic metavolcanics. Both the quartz vein material and surrounding wall rock contain rusty patches and fine disseminations of chalcopyrite with lesser amounts of pyrite and pyrrhotite.
The area underlying prospecting target ''No. One'* consists of 10cm to 70cm wide, white-greyish vitreous to waxy, fractured quartz vein roughly 70m in length. The immediate and prospected area host rock consists of fine grained intermediate to felsic metavolcanics. The quartz vein and immediate metavolcanics contained minor amounts of pyrite with the prospected area having little or no mineralization.
The area underlying prospected target ''No. Two'' consists of a narrow blue-grey quartz vein roughly 25m in length, hosted in fine grained intermediate to mafic metavolcanics. Rusty patches indicating sulphides were present, but only minor amounts of pyrite and chalcopyrite were located. The prospected area consisted of intermediate to mafic metavolcanics with an intrusion of dioritic material along the west edge. No significant mineralization was located.
WORK DOME;
Power and manual stripping was carried to locate an extension of the ''Main Trench Occurrence' ' . Power and Manual stripping was carried out at the ''Pond Occurrence (l location. Prospecting of these areas and other targets on the property were carried out. Rockwashing, blasting and sampling were carried out on areas that warranted it. See map for details.
RKSOLTg AMP RBCOMMKTOATIOH8;
in this phase of the project unfortunately no significant ineralizasVflTstructural features were outlined, with exception of the additional, mildly encouraging exposure at the ''Pond Occurrence 11 . An extension of the ''Main Trench Occurrence'' wasn't located and any further exploration on these features would probably be done by diamond drilling, it appears the extent of the on surface gold and copper mineralization, for the most part was outlined during phase one. Mo further work is recommended for the property and any option agreements will be based on the work done to date.

PROPERTY NAME: Gustafson
LOCATION AND ACCESS: WJ" "6™™ WHER 020
The Gustafson property is located in Nof*theastern Eva Township, Thunder Bay Mining Division approximately eight kilometers northwest of Beardmore. The property is accessible by travelling 10 kilometers west on Highway 580 from Highway 11 just North of Beardmore. A well marked trail from this point leads to the southern portion of the block of 15 claims.
SPECIFIC GEOLOGY AND NttNERALOGY:
The Gustafson property is located in the Northwestern portion of the main Beardmore-Geraldton belt. A dominant feature of the property consists of a body of feldspar porphyry forming a topographic dome termed the "Felsic Dome". Locally brecciated the rocks are highly carbonatized and silicified and contain disseminated fine grained pyrite. Euhedral feldspar phenocrysts (K2mm) are set in a fine grained groundmass of anhedral felspar sericite and carbonate rhombs. This sheared, locally cherty, alteration zone occurs in an area about 1000 feet in diameter.
The Gustafson -Ag occurrence is located along the southeastern "rim" of this felsic body. The occurrence consists of hematite pink to red alter ation and green malachite stain within a pink to grey highly silicified feldspar porphyry. Here brecciated quartz veins and veinlets up to 5cm wide are associated with thin seams, disseminations and patches of very fine pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and a fine grey metallic mineral, likely argentite. The same minerlization is also found in the immediate felsic material. Also a 30m wide North-South trending diabase dike transects the felsic dome roughly 50m west of the Ag occurrence.
The prospecting targets located south and southeast of the felsic dome consist of smaller intrusive bodies of the same felsic material and numerous quartz veinlets up to 2cm wide. Minor fine disseminations of pyrite are found in the felsic host and along fractures with the quartz veinlets.
Along the Northern portion of the property the "New Showing" and "Base Line Occurrences" and prospecting targets, "Fault" and "Lake Occurrences" are located. These occurrences are found along a northeasterly trend, striking 065" Az, with a strike length of roughly 1500 meters. These occur- rrences consist of highly gossaned and folded sulphide, magnetite iron formation containing recrystallized fine grained to cherty quartz material. The unit is highly fractured with pervasive hematite alteration in places and discontinuous 2-3mm seams of specular hematite. Pyrite ranges up to 15% and occurs as fine disseminations, coarse euhedral patches and massive seams from l to 2cm thick. The surrounding wall rocks consist of sheared, carbonatized and silicified mafic to intermediate metavolcanic flows(amydaloidal in places) and tuffs. Minor fine disseminated pyrite up
to l% and green chloritic alteration were noted within the wallrock.
WORK DONE;
Work consisted of power stripping, prospecting, manually stripping rock washing and s**pli*3 of the various occurrences on the property. Immediate areas around these occurrences were prospected. Manual stripping, prospecting and sampling were done on other targets on the property. See maps and information attached.
RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSIONS:
No significant assay values were obtained from the various occurrences and targets on the property, except for the immediate area around the Ag occurrence. Zinc and Silver values from this area were encouraging. The extent and nature of the "Felsic Dome", which the Ag occurrence is part of, is yet to be fully explored. This is also true for the highly pyritized occuflences with exceptional strike length found to the North. I recommend further exploration work be done on these areas and I will probably apply for additional funding in 1992.
NOTE:
I think the OPAP is an excellent program without which most of my exploration work wouldn't of been done. I'd like to thank Mr. John Mason and especially Mr. Gerry White (Resident Geologists) for their assistance during this and previous OPAP's.
