Husbanding Support Provider (HSP) Fall 2014: PACFLT solicited DAU’s help to develop and

deploy 3 overarching classes that satisfy training requirements

for ship and shore personnel partly attributable to HSP corruption fallout.

Spring 2016: DAU met w/ OPNAV N41, PACFLT and NAVSUP to present two

part strategy to address issue that could also result in training solutions.

May 2016: OPNAV N41 assumed lead role for Navy and signed 1144 w/

$12K for survey/competency assessment (Opinio)

Dec 2016: DAU deployed HSP competency assessment to selected Navy

personnel

March 2017: DAU provided assessment results to OPNAV

OPNAV waiting Navy Health Assessment of HSP prior to making decision to

move from Phase 1 to Phase II

Husbanding Support Provider (HSP) MA Strategy

OPNAV and DAU agreed to a Two Part Strategy in July 2016:

• Part I (Completed): Thinking Partner and Requirements Assessment

Interviewed key stakeholders who build and train HSP content

Built and deployed “competency assessment” survey

Analyzed data; and presented results to OPNAV N41 on 16 Mar 2017

• Part II (awaiting direction from OPNAV N41): Course Development, Deployment and

Administration

Confirm training audience

Develop and Validate Learning Objectives

Determine training length and various medium options

Price the cost of training method selected

Execute contract and develop detailed development schedule

Conduct training pilot and formally deploy training US Navy-wide to appropriate personnel
