1) Read one paragraph silently. Stop. Summarize the first paragraph through speaking with your partner.

2) Continue the process in step 1 until you have read and summarized (in speaking) the entire article.

Discuss the following questions with your partner AND another pair of students (groups of 4).

1. Do you think “Nomophobia” is a real problem that deserves scientific and medical attention? Why/why not?

2. Do you agree with the author’s idea that nomophobia is similar to tobacco and alcohol dependence? Why/why not?

3. What do you think about your own cell phone use? Do you think you might be nomophobic? Why/why not? Do you place any limits on your cell phone use?

Write 5-8 sentences in response to each question (to be collected, discussed, and summarized next class).
