In autumn, at our scool we work a tradicional tale called, María La Castañera, it is an easy tale to teach children about autumn, their characteristics and
customs related whith this season. This tale tells a curios anecdote that happened to her main character, María, a granny sold hot chestnuts. Everyday, she goes to the mountain and pick up
chestnuts to warm them up.
But, one day something strange happened. Suddenly, it started to rain and
chestnuts climbed up until thr roof..... oh, no!!!! It weren´t chetsnuts, it were
snails... so she has to go back to the mountain
to pick up more chestnuts to warm and sell them.
According to the tale we do different activities such as posters, main character crafs and Autumn activities. We sing The Chestnut seller song and other activities.
Here whe have some examples that we have made related to the story and the autumn season
Children can learn and have fun!!!!!!!!
Preschool children do a poster about the autumn. Everybody collaborates whit this.
As a final activity, the chestnut seller come to our school and give children a delicious and warm chetnuts to taste.
According to a traditional tale, children learn concepts related to autumn and we do a globalized work.
