Taking on the Happiest Place on Earth On February 1st, DBHS Best Buddies made their annual trip to Disneyland. Everyone piled into the bus bright and early and made their way to the park. Buddy pairs and associate members alike were able to spend a fun packed day creating even stronger bonds with the aide of the magical experience Walt Disney himself inspired.

Everyone experienced a different and unique day with their respective groups. When asked about the most memorable part of his day, Young Lin had a interesting moment in mind. Definitely the scariest part of the day was at Autopia. Jose was laughing the whole time, at times yanking the steering wheel, at times just stopping in the middle of the track. I nearly pooped my pants like 5 times, but it was still the fondest memory from the day.

The month of February can be overshadowed by the dreaded Valentines Day, commonly satirized as Singles Awareness Day, but its important to remember that platonic friendships are just as important! The bonds that you form with people through your friendships are some of the

strongest that you will find and will ultimately be the basis for the support system that everyone inherently seeks. At DBHS Best Buddies, we are honored to have been able to create some of these friendships that have blossomed into pure happiness for the many involved in them. We take a look at

look at the buddy pairs at Diamond Bar High School and we see how the friendships have flourished! Everyone seems to be clicking and just overall forming stronger bonds. A fun event that the buddy pairs took part in was DBHS Valentines Day Party. There were sweets and drinks for everyone to share! A game was played in which everyone had a piece of paper on their backs. The paper had the name of a famous person or cartoon character and the members had to guess who they had by getting clues from other members! Then, everyone had to find their partner who made up the other half of the famous couple!

Hope you all had an awesome Valentines Day as well!

Plus, it was funny seeing all the other cars stuck behind us. Young and Jose had a great day together at the happiest place on Earth.

Darren Young and his buddy Matthew Villalobos had a great day together as well! I had a amazing time at Disneyland with Matthew Darren explained, The best part was when we went on the Safari ride and listened to all the cheesy puns. After that we continued to make cheesy puns together throughout the day about the various other rides we went on. Going to Disneyland with Best Buddies was amazing and I cant wait till the next Best Buddies outing.

New Years Resolutions: Best Buddies Edition

Although its a bit past the New Years, its never too late to come up with goals and aspirations! Members came up with their goals and resolutions for Best Buddies this year and we got some awesome ideas. Some of these have been accomplished, such as Disneyland and the Valentines Day cards, while plans for many others such as poster making, Friendship Walk, and prom are in the works!

Featured Pair: Florence and NickFlorence and Nick were paired in a one-to-one friendship this past October and their friendship has certainly grown and gotten better as the year has gone by. They were even featured on the official Best Buddies California Instagram and Facebook pages!

Nick and Florence have been matched in a one-to-one friendship for the first time this year, and they've both been able to explore what it means to be matched in one of these friendships. They've gotten to get to know each other through spending time both during and outside of school in many different events. They've already made lots of memories, including football games, bowling, SoCal holiday party, and even getting the chance to celebrate Nick's 15th birthday together. The both of them have already formed a strong bond and gotten to know each other as individuals, and they can't wait to make this bond even stronger as 2014 goes by!

March is Best Buddies month and also the month in which we partake in the Spread the Word to End the Word Campaign. DBHS will be holding a three day long event in which we stop the use of the derogatory R-Word! Make sure to come out and support at the following locations:
