On �ursday, Oct. 1st, we dive deeper on key issues of interest to business. �ese select tracks will allow small groups of business leaders (20 or less) to meet with high-level o�cials and interest groups for a half-day following topics:
1. Innovating the Next Utah: Technology, Cybersecurity and Innovation DistrictSponsor:�e future of Utah’s economy is built on innovation. �is track builds on the Chamber’s e�ort to advance a downtown innovation district and will give business leaders key insights into the emerging technologies, associated challenges and future economic development strategies.
2. Regulation Nation: Workforce, Finance and the EnvironmentSponsor:Businesses are facing the largest wave of regulations in history. �is track builds on the Chamber’s Regulation Roundta-bles and will provide a unique opportunity to learn about current e�orts to improve our nation’s regulatory climate and major regulatory issues impacting our state.
3. Utah’s Global Forum in Action: Trade and Foreign RelationsSponsor:Utah is a global destination for business, a leader in trade and global issues impact Utah’s economy. �is track builds on the Chamber’s strategic partnerships with the Governor’s O�ce of Economic Development and World Trade Center Utah and will allow business leaders to learn from the best and brightest DC has to o�er on global and trade issues impacting their business.
4. Modernizing Our Nation's Tax Code: Comprehensive Tax ReformSponsor:Utah’s federal delegation is in a unique position to act on modernizing our nation’s tax code. �is track builds on the Chamber’s e�ort to improve not only Utah’s tax code but the nation’s and will allow business leaders an opportunity to better understand current negotiations, impacts on federal programs and addressing issues such as remote retail sales tax and the federal gas tax.
5. Business Advocacy: Matching Business Goals with Government Relations StrategiesSponsor:A very purposeful, engaged and active business community plays a vital role in Utah’s future prosperity. �is track builds on the Chamber’s e�ort to improve our grassroots and business leader engagement to further our advocacy e�orts by learning from best and brightest DC has to o�er on aligning corporate goals with government relations strategies.
