St. George's Episcopal Church is accessible via the Shaw-Howard University Metrorail Station (Green Une)

The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DCWater} will hold a public "open house· meeting to shareproject information and to receive comments from thepublic on the Environmental Assessment (EA) for theFirst Street Tunnel project. The First Street Tunnel projectis a component of the Anacostia River whichare the portion of the DC Clean Riversto
Anacostia River. The First Street Tunnel project is also acomponent of a Mayoral Initiative to mitigate flooding inthe Bloomingdale and LeDroit Park neighborhoods innortheast Washington, DC. DC Water anticipates thatconstruction of the First Street Tunnel would commenceduring the fall of 2013.
The purpose of the public meeting is to share informationon the project alternatives, benefits , and impacts andprovide interested parties an opportunity to give oral andwritten comments on the EA for the First Street Tunnelproject.

The meeting will be in an open house format. Members of
the public may stop by any time during the hours listed tosee displays on the proposed project and DC CleanRivers Project staff will be available to answer questionsabout the project.

available for public review for a 30-day period fromApril 15th - May·15th. During this time, the EA will be
