Joinusforanexciting2-daycoursethatintegratescurrenttheoryandpracticeinpediatrictreatmentwithasystemsapproachthatisanchoredinaneuromuscularmodelofcorerecruitment,usingbreathingasanaccesspointforallchildren.Practicalapplicationoftheinformationwillprimarilyaddresschildrenover2 yearsofage.
Day1willintroduceclinicianstoanintegrativemodelthatusesdiaphragmandbreathingmechanicsasanaccesspointforcorestabilityforchildren.Thisprovidesanattainableandaccessiblestartingpointtoimpactmultiplesystemsthatareintertwinedwithcorestability:alignment,posturalcontrol,balance,sensoryprocessingandemotionalself-regulationaswellasfunctionalgrossandfinemotorskills.Aspecificassessmentmodelofthealignment,whichiscrucialtothefunctionofthecore,isexplained.Participantswillalsolearnthepracticalskillsaddressingidentificationoftheproperactivationofeachofthedeepcorecomponents(Diaphragm,TA,PelvicFloor).OnDay2participantswilllearntoimplement“CoreStrategy”techniquesintreatmentandfunctionalactivitiesthathaveimmediateapplicationtoavarietyclinicalsituations(directtreatment,schoolandhomeprogrammes)intheirclients,ages2yearsandolder.CasepresentationswilladdresshowtodevelopCoreStrategyinclientsofdifferingages(preschoolers,schoolageandteens)anddiagnoses.ParticipantswillalsodiscusshowtointegrateCoreStrategytechniqueswithNeuro-DevelopmentalTreatmenthandlingskillsandsensoryprocessinginterventiontosupportagreaterrangeofclients.
