Two-step with two Texas sibling icons, Bradley Bayou and Laura Hunt! Speaking together for the first time, they will discuss their proud Texas roots, world-famous design talents and advice in developing and managing successful businesses.

It’s most certain the discussion will include some legendary stories. These stories will likely include working with celebrities, (thanks Oprah!) designing spectacular interiors (like Ted Turner’s desert lodge) and fashion design (featured in renowned retail stores like Neiman Marcus)…just to name a few.

Moderated by Lloyd Princeton, business consultant and motivational speaker dedicated to the interior design and architecture industry.

Bradley Bayou combined his entrepreneurial spirit with a love of architecture and art as a real estate developer, interior and fashion designer. With over 30 years experience and more than 25 renovations under his belt, Bradley has extensive knowledge of real estate, development and interior design. His company, BRADLEY BAYOU DESIGN is known for a unique World Modern aesthetic, and works on commercial as well as residential projects. On the fashion front, he has many fashion accolades, including a couture label, BRADLEY BAYOU, as well as a ready-to-wear collection at Q.V.C. Once the Creative Director for Halston, Bayou revived the label to its original stature as a world-renowned brand. He is most known for his couture designs worn by many celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Kim Kardashian, Halle Berry, and Beyonce. A featured guest on many television programs like “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and “Entertainment Tonight,” Bayou provides expert advice and guidance for home improvement as well as interior and fashion design. A Texas native, Bayou graduated

from The University of Texas and earned an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. Pursuing his life-long passion of fine art, his artwork has been featured in distinguished galleries across the country.

Laura Hunt is an internationally acclaimed designer best known for her spectacular, yet enduring interiors. She has repeatedly been named to Architectural Digest’s exclusive “AD 100” list as well as having been featured in numerous publications. Laura Hunt’s success can be attributed to her relentless desire to create one of a kind interiors and uniquely personal living spaces for each client. Characterized by her passion for a beautiful life and fueled by her vision, she gives her clients the benefit of her considerable experience, her zeal for truly exquisite design, and a relentless drive to perfect even the smallest details. Each space is treated individually evoking the personality of the client. A love for design and the art of entertaining have always been a part of Laura Hunt’s life, and became evident early on when she began cooking and decorating for her parents’ dinner parties as a young teenager. Laura is a big believer that, “entertaining and decorating are synonymous and every home should be directly intertwined with the lifestyle of its inhabitants.” Throughout Laura’s life she has always made time for causes and charities close to her heart, and she has raised millions of dollars through philanthropic endeavors either as a founder of non-profit organizations or through her participation as a vocal board member. Based in New York City for more than a decade, Hunt has moved back home to Texas where she presides over a full-service boutique design firm in Dallas, Texas.

Join Decorative Center Houston as we welcome and celebrate two Texas treasures to our Fall Market. Reception to follow the keynote discussion at Andrew Martin Showroom, Suite 1050.

Bernardaud, Suite 1060Bernardaud is proud to present the limited edition white glazed porcelin Split-Rocker vase by American artist Jeff Koons. Consistent with Koons’ tireless fascination with contrast and the in-between, the inspiration for Split-Rocker came when he decided to split and combine two similar but different toy rockers, a pony belonging to his son and a dinosaur. The “split” between the different halves of the heads gives an almost Cubist aspect to the composition. Born in 1955 in York, Pennsylvania, Jeff Koons is without question one of the most important living artists. Since his emergence in the 1980’s Jeff Koons has blended the concerns and methods of Pop and Conceptual art with popular culture to create his own unique iconography, at times controversial but always engaging. Often working with everyday objects, his work revolves around themes of self-acceptance and transcendence. Koons’ works are exhibited worldwide and found in numerous public and private collections.

Project CourtyardDecorative Center Houston’s Courtyard Renovation is Completed

The courtyard renovation at Decorative Center Houston is completed and it’s beautiful! Owner Charles S. Cohen envisioned the multi-million dollar makeover to enhance the magnificence of the center. The first-class use of materials and state-of-the-art design elements solidify Decorative Center Houston as the premier resource destination for design professionals not only in Houston but also the Southwest. Under the leadership and guidance of Charles S. Cohen, Decorative Center Houston never looked better.

The transformations of the main plaza fountain and courtyard areas create a new, striking and inspiring entryway to the building. The completed look features a dramatic landscape with 20-foot tall palm trees, beautiful blossoming gardens and a runway-like lighted esplanade. The new building façade is made from exquisite Bianco Romano marble quarried and imported from Brazil.

The most magnificent part of the renovation is the elevated infinity fountain. Imagined by Fluidity Design Consultants based in Los Angeles, California and designers of the famous Fountains of Bellagio. The serene fountain is made of polished Black Galaxy Granite. The custom designed innovative dancing water feature greets you with a cascading waterfall and dazzling lights. The rolling water is mesmerizing and ascends and retreats with simplicity. The colored LED lights illuminate the exclusive granite and are timed to brighten and change color with precise perfection. The choreographed fountain can be programmed with 10 different performances set to the glimmering lights. It’s a true work of art and a real source for design inspiration.
