SENIOR HIGH YOUTH NEWS: It's time to register for Montreat!
Our youth group will be joining the youth group from 1st Presbyterian
Church in Nebraska City traveling to Montreat, North Carolina, to attend
an amazing youth conference.
Dates of the trip are June 6 or 7 (we are still deciding on specific flight
information) through June 13th.
The trip is open to any youth entering 9th grade through graduated 12th graders.
Cost of the trip is $500.00 per person. Please let Mason or any senior high sponsor know if you are in
need of a scholarship. Scholarship money is available, and money should NOT be a reason for staying
home. A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is due upon registration. Registration forms will be available
on Sunday morning in Forum class, or at youth group Sunday evening. Make your deposit online at
eastridge.org under the About section and then Youth; then click on the photo (shown above). Or you
can turn in your deposit by check to Mason or any of the sponsors. If you have questions, contact Mason
or a senior high sponsor (James and Emily Ehly, Carman Varejcka-McGee, Doug and Mickey McDaniel).

Our Lenten study, “Illuminating Lent” was a great success! Ten groups met on every day of the week except Saturday to share in discussion, prayer, and Bible study. From the study: “This study draws on Lenten themes and sets them in relation to the Lord’s Prayer. Each session exam-ines a part of the prayer, its theological understandings, and then what
this part means for us in practical ways during Lent”.
We hope the study was illuminating for you, and that you es-tablished relationships with your small groups. Thank you to all the leaders for your willingness to facilitate the study! (photo at right was taken at the Thursday evening small group session held at the Sunderman home)
Holy Week Activities: April 1: No Manna or activities tonight; Lenten Study groups will still meet.
April 2: Maundy Thursday service info: We will have a meal with our Maundy Thursday ser-vice. From Pastor Mason: “This will be a pot luck feast, with the main course and drinks be-ing provided by the church and all of the side dishes coming from you. Please join us for food and worship at 6:00 PM. This year our meal and worship will be intertwined so make sure to be with us from the beginning if you can. If you can’t, don’t worry; just come. This will be a wonderful time of fellowship and remembrance of our Lord Jesus’ final meal. If you are coming please let the office know so that we can make sure to have enough food for everyone.”
April 3: Good Friday service at 7:00 pm.
April 5: Easter Sunday services at 6:30 (Sunrise service on East Patio, with breakfast to follow in Fellowship Hall), 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 am.

We’d like to thank Kyle Griffin for his years of service to EPC’s youth ministry by show-ering him with cards at his new address! Please drop off your cards and remem-brances in the church office and we’ll make sure he receives them!
Offering Envelopes: Our
new offering envelopes will
not be pre-printed with pa-
rishioners’ envelope num-
bers. There will be a blank
for you to fill in, if you wish. However, with our new
check scanner, the need for numbered envelopes when
giving by check is unnecessary. There are still pre-printed
envelope boxes for several members in our cabinets;
when you run low just stop in the office or call to pick up
a box.

Correspondence: Kathy Kuehn, on behalf of EPW, stated that EPW would be hosting the Area 5 gath-ering on April 18 rather than April 11. It was pointed out that the 18th is the day before the Concert for the Presby-Build and perhaps rehearsals would be done on Saturday. Kathy is to check with Chris Peck to see if there is any conflict. Other Motions: It was moved and unanimously approved as brought forth by Budget and Stewardship commit-tee to accept credit card payments for the whole congregation for all events and offerings which will be fully functional with our new website by August, 2015.
It was moved and unanimously approved as brought forth by the Outreach Committee to schedule a hands-on Mission Activity on March 11, 2015.
On March 17, 2015, word was received that the proposed
marriage amendment to the constitution of the Presby-
terian Church (USA) had been passed by the required
number of presbyteries. The amendment will become a
part of the constitution in June.
In response, the Eastridge Session devoted its meeting
on March 19 to further prayerful discussion about the
amendment and its impact on Eastridge. The Session
took the following actions:
It was moved, seconded, and unanimously approved that
the leadership of Eastridge Presbyterian Church seeks to
glorify God in Jesus Christ above all else.
It was moved, seconded, and unanimously approved to
affirm our commitment to remain a member congrega-
tion of PC(USA). Rev. Melodie Jones Pointon requested
that her affirmative vote be acknowledged.
It was moved, seconded, and unanimously approved to
affirm our love for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
It was moved, seconded, and unanimously approved to
affirm that we are a diverse family of believers, we will
continue to be diverse, and we value our diversity.
It was moved, seconded, and approved that we further
affirm that we will continue to honor our ordination vows
to follow the Book of Order and church polity, which
now provides that a couple who wishes to marry must
meet the requirements of the civil jurisdiction and re-
ceive instruction in the nature of the covenant of mar-
riage from a minister. The minister will seek the counsel
of the session, which has the authority to permit or deny
the use of the church property for a marriage service.
The Session has been attempting to discern God’s will
throughout its study of the covenant of marriage. We
continue to pray for Eastridge and its members.
Check out our new Eastridge website at
www.eastridge.org. It’s a work in progress,

eastridge presbyterian church youth
The Youth are taking on a bit of a new schedule for the remainder of the school year. In a rotating model, each Sunday evening will be an experience of either food, fellowship, service, or study. Each experience we will focus on scripture, but done so, obviously, in these four very different ways. Our goal is to not just talk and study about what the scriptures teach us, but to live out those scriptures on a regular basis. Come and join our youth in wor-ship!
The meal schedule for the 2014-
2015 school year is completely
full! Thank you to those of you
who signed up to serve our
youth on Sunday evenings.
