The Instructional and Performance Assessment Office (IPA) has outlined some guidelines and tips to help you prepare your child for the Kinder/Grade 1 Entrance Exam.
AFTER YOUR CHILD HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAM, BE SURE TO READ THE FOLLOWING:• information on Kinder/Grade 1

ON THE NIGHT BEFORE THE TEST•Makesureyourchildgoestobedearly.
• Keeptoyourusualroutine.Abreakinroutinesmightmakeyourchildfeelanxious.
• Helpyourchildgetagoodnight’srestsothathe/shewakesuprelaxed.
ON THE TESTING DAY• Getupearlytoavoidrushing.AssemblyofexamineeswillbeatthelobbyoftheAdmission’sOffice.Pleasebethere15minutesbeforethetest.
• Makesureyourchildeatsenoughbreakfast.
• Letyourchildwearclothesthatarecomfortableandappropriateforanairconditionedroom.Let him/her bring jacket.
•Bepositiveaboutthetest.Acknowledgethattestscanbehard.Explainthatdoingone’sbestiswhatreallycounts.Makeyourchildfeelcomfortableandconfidentaboutthetest.
UPON ARRIVAL AT DLSZ, PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE ASSEMBLY AREA.•AnIPApersonnelwillaccompanyyourchildtotheTestingRoom.
•Parents/Guardiansareexpectedtowaitintheassemblyarea.Afterthetest,theIPApersonnelwillaccompanythechildbacktotheassemblyarea.
•Duringthetest,oneproctorisassignedtoeverytwoexaminees.Sixexamineesarescheduledpertestingsession.Testingtimeisapproximatelyoneandahalfhour.
