DOCUMENTING A DREAM

Stars may also symbolize our aspirations, our hopes, our dreams. They serve as reminders that although things may appear to be out of our grasp, through diligence and faith, we can go beyond our limitations.

In fact, many ancient civilizations believed that when a great or very influential person died, they ascended to the heavens and became a star in the sky – always there to watch over and guide those below.

Stars. Stars are massive,

luminous spheres of plasma held together by gravity. For centuries, the symbol of the star has been used to reference divinity, intuition, hope, and guidance. Stars offer the unique ability to guide us through the night.

Page 4: De Siera (Road to the Stars)

The first day of October 2012 marked the beginning of our journey. It was on that day when, hand-in-hand, we have tried to put together a dream. It was on that day when we took a step and began to tread our very own road to the stars… bravely and without hesitation.

OUR JOURNEY

Now, join us as we retrace the steps of our journey to the stars. Stay with us as snapshots and photographs remind us of that dream – that vision that may one day push us to go beyond our limits.

PHYSICAL SETUP

The pathway to one’s dreams may be filled with difficulties and adversities to test one’s strength, in the same way that the road to the stars can be rough, challenging, and uncertain.

Here’s how our road to the stars looked like…

OUR SUSTENANCE

The hunger for knowledge has to be satisfied; the shaping of skills be cultivated; and the determination to succeed be nurtured.

Along with our inner strength, patience, and passion, here’s how we have sustained ourselves in our journey to our dreams.

INVOCATION

Great God in heaven,

We thank You for this wonderful day You have given us.Thank You for the gift of life and for salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank You for allowing us to take part in this activity, where we come into the culmination of our Nursing Education Administration class. Guide us through our dream school presentation, and give us the wisdom, eloquence, and presence of mind we need to deliver our respective "dream" institutions. Give us a humble heart, and an open mind to accept corrections. For we know that we have much to learn, and that this activity is only a step into becoming the future nursing educators and administrators that we are called to be. Thank You for the presence of each and everyone here today, who have made this dream school presentation possible - our panelists, our adviser, our classmates, and even fellow nurses who have come to show their support and interest in our activity.May You bestow upon us Your blessing and grace for the success of this activity, as Thou hast given us victory and proved Yourself faithful in every day of our lives.

For in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.Ms. Ammi Hofilena

INTRODUCTION

Ms. Junah Marie Rubinos

Good morning! Dreamers by the day are different from dreamers of the night. Dreamers of the night have their dreams remain as dreams. But dreamers of the day have an open eyes to create their path and achieve their dreams. And this class are dreamers by the day who have strong desires to reach for the stars. Thank you.

OPENING REMARKS

Ms. Marizza Jean Salinas

Good day and welcome to “De Siera (Road to the Stars): A Nursing Dream School Presentation”. First and foremost I would like to thank everyone present here today who had taken their time and effort to be with us. To our panelist, Mr. Perry Paul Espinosa and Mrs. Caroline Yoro for coming. To our colleagues and class adviser Mrs. Ma. Ruby Fullon for the unwavering support. Thank you. With the knowledge bestowed to us through this activity, I hope that it would benefit everyone as future nurse educators, administrators and in the nursing arena. May this event be of great help to those who envisioned and aspired for their own dream school. This is a dream as well as a desire that would someday materialize. Before I end may speech I would like to leave this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Dream and dream big. So seat back and enjoy. Once again, thank you.

Page 17: De Siera (Road to the Stars)

We have invited marvellous men and women to give us their comments and feedback with regards to our nursing dream school.

They were introduced by Mrs. Anmi Flores.

Page 21: De Siera (Road to the Stars)

GROUP 2

T.E. Lawrence said, “All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity, but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.”

The dreamers of the day: St. Thaddeus University

THE FRUITS OF OUR LABORSo, the dream school presentations were a success. Who knows what marks we received, but one thing is certain and this, we believe, is what matters –

Our HARD work translated into TEAMwork…

and our HARDships translated into FRIENDships.

Page 42: De Siera (Road to the Stars)

De Siera: A Nursing Dream School Presentation was a success because it did not end, leaving us, the facilitators, empty-handed.

In fact, the program concluded with us feeling richer and more blessed – richer in knowledge and definitely richer in friends. And these, ladies and gentlemen, are treasures that are worth holding onto.

Page 43: De Siera (Road to the Stars)

Yes, this is a documentation of a dream. Just as we have tried to put these pieces together, as a group, we have also tried to piece together a dream.

With our inner strength, our patience, our passion, our learnings, and hopefully with each other, we will put this dream into realization.

After all, our De Siera - our road to the stars -is actually just beginning…
