August 2019 Dear Valued C&S/Piggly Wiggly Vendors: On Friday, October 25, 2019, C&S Retail Services, Inc. and our Piggly Wiggly partners are hosting the C&S Charities South Carolina Golf Classic fundraiser at The Links at Stono Ferry. We invite you to join us for a day of good fun while supporting two great local causes - the Lowcountry Food Bank and the Pediatric Oncology Department at Hollings Cancer Center. Our event will be held at The Links at Stono Ferry. The Links at Stono Ferry in Hollywood, SC, is considered one of the best courses in the Charleston area. Built on the historic grounds where The Battle at Stono Ferry was fought in 1779, The Links at Stono Ferry’s holes are named in tribute to the battle. For instance the signature par 3, 14th hole is called “The Crossing” because its where the ferry originally landed and boasts an exciting shot across the water and stunning views of the beautiful surrounding landscape. The intriguing combination of history and exciting course features makes The Links at Stono Ferry a must play for golfers in South Carolina. It is the perfect venue to play golf, mix and mingle with Piggly Wiggly store owners, and the C&S Retail Services staff. Again this year we are asking you to register for the event on our website. This will streamline how you sign up to golf, to sponsor the event, and to remit payment. The C&S South Carolina Golf Classic is limited to 36 teams and registration closes on September 20 th . Participation is on a first-come-first served basis. Please see the attached materials for more information. If you have any questions reach out to: Steve Harkins ([email protected]/843-203-1318) or Jennifer Dingler ([email protected]/843-203-1273). Thank you in advance for your support. Sincerely, John Owens and the C&S/Piggly Wiggly Family C&S Charities, Inc., an IRC § 501(c)(3) organization, was established by C&S Wholesale Grocers and its family of companies to support national and local non-profits that focus on childhood food insecurity and pediatric oncology. 1 in 6 children may not know where they will get their next meal.

For the nearly 13 million kids in the U.S. facing hunger, getting the energy they need to learn and grow can be a day-in, day-out challenge.

Kids who don’t get enough to eat begin life at a serious disadvantage. When they’re hungry, children are more likely to be hospitalized and as they grow up, kids struggling to get enough to eat are more likely to have problems in school.

Childhood Hunger

1 in 6 children may not know where they will get their next meal.

For the nearly 13 million kids in the U.S. facing hunger, getting the energy they need to learn and grow can be a day-in, day-out challenge.

Kids who don’t get enough to eat begin life at a serious disadvantage. When they’re hungry, children are more likely to be hospitalized and as they grow up, kids struggling to get enough to eat are more likely to have problems in school.
