How to make a Winning Team

1st Speaker: Introducer

Good script/speech writer

Define the topic

Support the points with examples, facts etc

Look and sound right; No matter what you are saying

Avoid points those will be obviously rebutted.

Research well: Quote authenticated sources only.

Explain your logic : Block rebuttal chances

If you are a rebutter, Accept or reject the definition of terms

Fill in the information that was missed out by the “FOR” speaker

Thinker on his/her feet

Look for weakness in their argument.

Discount any advantages cited by the opponents

Use arguments based on Logic : Support with facts

Use argument Based on emotions: Examples, personal stories

Use arguments based on authority: Your/Team members area

When in doubt, Just say the opposite to the other team.

Challenge authenticity of info, give counter info.

Look if the opponents gets off the track. Challenge for changing the topic.

Focus on impracticality and possible new evils on the points of other

3rd Speaker: Conclusion

A good evaluator

Congratulate your team for showing an overall superiority

Develop points from both your previous speakers

Re emphasize the strongest rebutted points.

Build logical sequence

Have a proper structure

Speak for the judges, not opponents.

State the clashes in each point, explain/analyze why you have won in each clash.

End with a persuasive closing statement.
